He hated his family, pure bloods with nothing but staying pure on their minds, and they were dragging him with that idea. Along with keeping the blood pure, you couldn't taint it with associating with people of other houses, with people of other blood status, with people of pure blood that assosciate with others un-pure. Why would he, Mason Jay Bradley the III, want to taint his blood at all? Well when you're feeling that not even speaking or glancing towards anyone from the other houses was like betraying them and your better judgement.
Sighing softly, Mason hit the parchment against his hand several times. It was to his cousin, Bella Marie Charles, the only Gryffindor of his family, or that he knew of. She was disowned, which both of them were somewhat greatful for. Who wanted to marry their cousin?
"Didn't work out for me." He muttered, whistling softly for his soot black owl with dark blue eyes that came down from the ledge it was sitting on with other owls. He smiled softly when it came and tied the parchment to the owl for him to take to the common room.
No one was going to notice, everyone was at supper, or most of them, aside from him and Bella.

I started on my way up to the owlerly, touching the slightly bruised area by my eye. This's what I got for playing a game of Quidditch with my brother and his friends; A Quaffle to face. That actually doesn't hurt has much as you'd think but nonetheless, left a slightly ugly looking black and blue mark on my over my right eye and side of my face.
I was holding a letter to my mum and I pushed the open the door, surprised to see a guy in there. Most everyone now was at supper. As I walked inside I looked up at the owls, and waited for one of them to come down. After a moment or two a lightly brown tawny owl flew down to me and I handed it the letter and walked over to a window.
The guy who in was there looked familar and I thought I've seen him around, but I really wasn't too sure of his name.. or house, or anything for that matter. He just looked familar.

Mason turned around with his eyes closed and started leaning against the wall now as he waited for Bella to get the letter and then send another back with spare parchment. And before he leaves, that's when he'll send a letter to his cousin and future wife, Racheal Faye.
Finally opening his eyes he looked around, wondering what exactly had caught his attention and brought him from his meaningless thoughts, his eyes landing on a girl. Maybe he had classes with her or passed her in the hallway, but he never gave her a second glance because of the fact that she wasn't a Slytherin, it was for sure because he would've known her name and actually said something. He hadn't have even been looking at her for more than a few seconds before he took his eyes off of her, pretending not to have seen her. He couldn't, had to keep his blood far from 'tainted'.
Turning back to the window he saw his owl flying back and smiled slightly, taking the parchment from him when he flew through the window. One thing was for sure, if had been a while since he talked to Bella, she sent a long and quick response.
Chuckling softly under his breath he read the neat cursive before scribbling his own response back slowly.

I told the owl where to go and then let him fly out the window. I smiled as I watched it fly off into the distance. As I watched, I saw another owl come back and watched it enter the window and over to the boy who was in there with me. He chuckled slightly under his breath and I smiled slightly, watching him for a moment, as he scribbled a reply. I was going to say something, but since he was writing decided to not and turned away from him, not really wanting to stare. So instead, I kept looking out the window, trying to think if maybe there was someone else I wasnted to write to.

Another owl had flown off, probably sent by the girl who Mason was still trying to figure out who she was, but he tried not to let that show. Moving so he was sitting in one of the windows he had his ink floating next to him and dipped his quil in it before continuing to write his response to Bella. So far they weren't talking about much, she was just scolding him for not writing sooner, apparently she was going out of her mind wondering how everyone was doing, even if they hated her.
Sending off the new letter with his letter he chuckled, still staring out the window. "You worry to much Bella." He murmured, not even noticing that the girl was still in there until he turned around and practically jumped back from her, but he didn't move any and just raised an eyebrow. "Haven't you already sent off your letter?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in question, nearly ready to accuse her of spying. What would come if word let slip he was sending an owl back and forth with his disowned cousin and hanging around a girl who wasn't Slytherin?
Disowned like Bella. Wouldn't that be better? In some ways.. But you don't want to marry Racheal. Shut up.

I saw the owl fly off again, assuming it was the guy who was just writing. I was still wondering who he was, but still wasn't talking to him. I didn't want to bug him or anything. I heard him mumble something and was slightly surprised when I heard him talk to me. "Oh.. Um. yeah, I did." I said shaking my head a little. "Was just.. standing here." I said with a small smile to him, pushing my hands in my back pockets for a moment and shrugging.

Mason sighed when she struggled for an answer, not exactly sure why it took her a while to answer. Seeing her smile he raised an eyebrow, he had figured she would take that as a hint to leave, but some people aren't always that quick or smart, are they? So, she's not Slytherin, and she can't be Ravenclaw because her ignorance.
Keeping his eyes on her for a short while longer, he raised an eyebrow for a moment before turning away and looking out the window, waiting for his owl to come back and to be able to ignore the girl and the possible issues of someone walking in and getting an idea, or for her to start talking about the fact that he let her stay in there without yelling insults in her direction. But she didn't seem to have any idea who he was. So his worries only stayed with the possibility of someone walking in.

My smile falter as he ignored me and just looked out the window and I raised an eyebrow slightly. "Okay.." I murmured softly to myself, wondering why I wasn't just leaving. I bit my lip a little bit and sat up in a window sill, though I could still see him from where I was. "I'm sorry.. you look really familar.. Are you in my potions class?" I asked him after a moment looking over to him as he looked out of the window.

Mason shrugged his shoulders faintly at her question. He was curious though, that much was true, didn't mean he'd have to show it. "Might be." He muttered, taking the parchment from his owl that just flew in. Glancing at her as he unrolled the parchment he smirked slightly. "Mason Jay Bradley." He said, introducing himself before reading through the letter and writing a response to send off. Apparently Bella was still annoyed with him, causing him to chuckle a little bit more, though the girl could probably take it as him chuckling at her. If she did, then let her.
Quietly he finished scribbling another response, shorter than his last, but it still had some length to it. Sending it off he looked up at the girl who still hadn't seemed to have left.

I watched him shrug his shoulders slightly and kept my eyes on him, then watching another owl fly in. I had never really seen someone just come here and have a converstaion with someone. Why couldn't he just go and talk to whoever it was? They were obviously on the grounds because of how fast he was getting responses.
I nodded slightly when he gave me his name and waited until he was done writing his letter and sent it of before speaking. "Meilana Holbrooks." I said back to him with a smal smile, wondering why I was still smiling, then thinking it was probably because he was kind of cute, even if he was a jerk. "Are you having a conversation with someone through letters?" I asked curiously a moment later.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw that the owl had now switched course in direction and looked out the window to see where it was headed and laughed a little when he saw Bella sitting under a tree in the courtyard. "Nice to meet you." He mumbled, still looking out the window, knowing it didn't sound like he was telling the truth and looked back at Meilana after a moment.
Hearing her next question, Mason chuckled softly to himself. "And would that be a problem?" He asked, raising a small eyebrow towards her. He wasn't going to tell her that he was, she could probably figure it out, and he wasn't going to tell her why he was doing it when he could go talk to the person.

I smiled a little even though it didn't really sound like he meant it and nodded slightly, "Nice to meet you too.. and call me Mei.. no one usually uses my whole first name.." I said with a small nod.
"No, course not.." I said shaking my head a little bit. "I was just curious since you could just go talk to whoever it is.." I shrugged lsightly.

Mason just nodded at what she said, not much paying attention to it, well he was, just not showing it. She didn't deserve to be treated like he was treating her, no one ever did, it just ended up that way. "Alright, Mei." He muttered softly, shaking his head a little.
"Only I can't quite do that." He said, seeing her shrug and the familiar smirk twisted it's way to his lips again as he chuckled softly.

I nodded slightly, "Right.. or Lacey.. middle name." I said wondering why I just said that, he obviously didn't care and I was about to start thinking of something completely off the wall to say just so I could see if he was really paying much attention.
"You can't?" I asked raising a small eyebrow over to him, smiling slightly with a small chuckle, wondering why he was smirking so much. "Mind if I ask why?"

He was starting to wonder why she even bothered to talk, but simply nodded when she said that he could call her Lacey too, if he wanted. "Mei or Lacey." He muttered softly as he took the parchment from the owl again. Maybe that's what his problem was, he was showing her that he was listening, at least a little bit. Maybe if he stopped paying attention she'd leave.
"Right, I can't." He said, chuckling faintly at how she had to ask and double check. "Don't mind, mind if I don't answer?" He asked, glancing up at her, locking his eyes on hers and raising a small eyebrow, after a brief moment he smirked again and looked down to start writing again.

I nodded again when he repeated it and bit my lip slightly again. Why was I still trying to talk to this kid. "Right.. so what can I call you.. hm.. Mason Jay Bradley.. Is there even a nickname for Mason?" I asked looking over to him and moving so I was dangleing my feet out the window and sitting on the ledge.
I laughed a little at what he said and nodded slightly, "Nope, guess I don't mind." I said with a smile as he went to start writing again. "It's your business."
I hope I wasn't annoying him and I mainly just asked him about names to see if he would pay attention to me at all. Really, I probably just should've stayed quiet.

Mason laughed and looked at her after hearing her question, shaking his head with a little bit of amusement. "Call me Jay if you want. Otherwise Mason." He said, smiling towards her as she let her legs hang out the window and dangle. "Just try not falling out the window so you can use the names." He said, smiling a little more before moving his eyes from her and to the parchment.
"Then that's good." He said with a smirk. It wasn't that bad, he knew it never was that bad, hanging out with non pure bloods, or pure bloods that were tainted. He knew that, just he never showed it openly and so freely where someone could walk in and find out.

I smiled and nodded. "Cool. Jay or Mason." I said with another nod, repeating the names like he was doing a moment earlier. I chuckled faintly, still smiling. "I won't fall.. least I hope not.. unless you're actually thinking about pushing me out the window or something.." I said lookining over to him with a small smirk before looking back out.
"I guess so, since I have a feeling you still wouldn't tell me if I minded.." I said with a small smile.

"Jay or Mason." He said, chuckling as he sent the letter off, glancing down at Bella to see her in a fit of laughter, probably having had looked up here, didn't help that she read minds either. "If you want me too." He said, sighing softly as he stood up and started over towards her, joking around really.
"Nope, lips are sealed." He said, chuckling softly, shaking his head softly.

I nodded slightly, "And I am perfectly okay with that." I smiled.

Shaking his head a little he shrugged softly. "Your loss Mei." He said with a small laugh, moving his had to her hair and messing it up slightly before turning so that his back was to the wall and sat down on the ground.
"Then I'm glad." He said, shaking his head with a small smirk. After a while, he guessed, it did get easier to talk and be a bit more open with people he wasn't supposed to even look at, he was even tempted to tell her why he could go speak to Bella. He was sure that if he could see Bella, he probably would end up doing so.

I laughed a little, smoothing my hair back down after he messed it up. I was used to that, since my brothers did it quite often when I was around them. "Eh.. I dunno about my loss.. but okay." I said with a small laugh and shrug.
"So am I then I guess." I said simply, glancing over to him as he smirked.

Mason laughed softly at her next comment, her near struggle for words. He kept his eyes off of her, but it didn't mean anything. "You never know, it could be fun to fall out of the window. Maybe some other time." He said with a small grin towards the opposite wall, wondering what exactly he meant by that. It sounded almost like he wanted to see her again. The owl came in again, this time the neat cursive on the parchment stretched further down and he sighed, reading through it and shaking his head a little.
The whole reading your thoughts thing, that was the only thing he didn't quite like, that's the only thing that filled the page, along with several comments. Some of the thoughts were of Meilana's, but he ignored those and began to write back, telling her to at least leave Mei's thoughts out of this.
"Good." He murmured softly.

I laughed softly and nodded. "Yes.. maybe it's fun until I hit the ground.. or a flying owl or something... then again, maybe someone else could break my fall. That could be good... for me at least." I smiled back to him as he grinned. So he wasn't too much of a jerk and really wasn't that bad of to talk to. "Yeah, maybe next time.." I said shaking my head a little, staying where I was and looking back out the window and then down, leaning forward slightly to see just how far it really was.
"Yep.." I said quietly with another small nod. "So.. you're talking to that girl there.. in the tree." I said looking over to him again. "So close yet so far away.." I commented with a small half smile.

"Who said you'd hit the ground?" Mason asked, raising an eyebrow with a small laugh. "You're a witch, I'm sure you'd find something." He said, relaxing a little and smiling again. "It's a date then." He said with a laugh. Maybe he hadn't meant it to come out that way, but it was to late to change it now.
"That'd be her." He said, leaning his head back against the wall as she looked over. "So close, yet so far away." He repeated with a small nod.

"Sure I'm a witch, but I wouldn't be able to do much unless I had my broom." I said as I leaned back again and moved so I was sitting with my legs inside this time with my back faceing the open window. "Awesome.. and maybe I'll pull you out with me.. double the fun." I grinned looking over to him.
I nodded slightly, glancing outside to her one more time, starting to get curious and wondering who she was to him. But I thought I'd been nosy enough and kept myself out of it.

"There you go, broom." He said, laughing. "Accio your broom." He added, shaking his head faintly and looking towards her as she turned back through the window, facing the Owlery now. "Alright, I suppose I could submit to that." He said, being serious until a smile spread across his lips.
"She's my cousin, would be future wife." He said, laughing a little at that. "She was disowned though, so it's good." He added, nodding a little bit. He didn't want to say he was arranged to marry his other cousin, so he left it at that. It's a little odd to think about that as it is.

I laughed a little, "Okay, I'll keep that in mind and hope that it gets there in time." I smiled with a small nod, looking down toward my feet. "And good." I grinned back to him as he smiled a little back to me. "Sounds peachy."
"Oh wow.." I said glancing back to her again. "Sounds like that would be good then I guess. I can't imagine having to marry my cousin."

Mason laughed softly, looking over to her now and seeing her nod. "Sounds, peachy?" He asked, laughing again at how odd that sounded. Never thought he'd hear someone say something sounded like a peach, odd.
"Yes, but she's loads more tolarable then my other cousin." He said, laughing a little. "That sounded rather odd. Saying one cousing seems better to marry then my other." Mason said, shaking his head softly. "Rather not marry either of them." And then he realized he said he was going to marry his other cousin. He hadn't told anyone of this long been arranged marriage, seemed rather odd to say it to a near complete stranger.

I laughed a little with a wide grin on my lips and nodded. "Yeah.. peachy." I said, looking over at him a little longer this time. "Never heard it before?"
I watched him a litle closer as she spoke again and smiled as he laughed. "I guess it did sound a little odd.." I said still looking at him. "So now you're stuck with some other cousin to marry?" I asked raising my eyebrows slightly, "Maybe you should get disowned too.." I said with a faint sympathetic smile.
