I smiled faintly and laughed slightly with her. I shook my head a little bit when she apologized. "It was sarcastic.. it's okay." I smiled a little bit.

"Hence the apology," I shrug, then glance around as I realize that we've just been standing in the living room right beside the door all this time. "Say, do you want anything? Want to come sit down?" I ask, nodding toward the kitchen.

I shrugged, "It doesn't matter." I said with a faint smile and shake of my head. "Um.. I guess I wouldn't mind some tea?" I asked a couple moments later after she nodded toward the kitchen.

"Thought as much." I smile slightly, leading the way. This is mildly weird, to be so normal after everything that's happened. But not in a bad way.

I smiled faintly and nodded, "Not much has changed." I said before giving a faint chuckle. ".. Hard to believe after nearly two weeks, right?" I asked, shaking my head faintly. I doubt many things can change within that amount of time. I followed her as she started walking, putting my hands into my pockets.

"Yeah... two whole weeks," I nod, smiling kind of sadly now. Is that really what it's been? Two weeks since I've spoken to Riley?

I nodded faintly, "I think I was too worried to wait longer than that." I said after a moment.

"You really thought I'd manage to fall in front of a bus or something myself if you waited more than two weeks to see me again?" I ask, gently teasing.

I gave a sort of half weak smile and nodded a little bit, ".. Yeah, actually." I said with a very weak chuckle. "I can't help it."

"All right then...." I laugh slightly, turning to the stove to start boiling the tea. "... Well... I guess I'm glad you came."

"You better be, I may have just saved your life.." I said with a faint smile and laugh, seeing her turn on the stove and walking over to the counter, pushing myself on top of it so I was sitting on it instead of sitting at the table.

I laugh a bit more, shaking my head. "Oh, and I'm grateful. Really, really grateful. Aren't I making you tea?"

I smiled at her laugh and nodded a bit, "You make a good point. I save your life, you make me tea. Dead even, if you ask me."

"Exactly," I nod, taking out the tea bags and wondering if I ought to make myself a cup of tea that yet again I won't really drink. "Or nearly. If it winds up being really good tea, I think you'll still owe me one."

I kept the small smile on my face. "That's a great possibility becuase I don't know if I've ever told you this or not, but you make some great tea." I said as she took some tea bags out. "Actually, it's the only reason I'm friends with you.. I'm sorry you had to find out this way."

"Oh, that's all right." I laugh slightly. "I only speak to you because you drink my tea, rather than letting it all go to waste when I make it and then let it get cold. So I guess it all works out, really." The water has finally boiled by this time, so I stir it for a minute before handing him his cup, shrug again, and pour some for myself. It makes a good prop anyway.

I laughed a little bit, smiling a bit more as I took my tea from her. ".. Sorry about that, by the way, I have a feeling you picked that up from me." I said, in reference to what she said about not drinking her tea and just making it. "And thanks." I said a moment later, for the tea.

"Told you it was better than coffee." I said smiling faintly after scrunching my nose up a bit, and then taking a small sip from my mug.

I laugh disbelievingly, shaking my head. "And who the hell said that? When I make myself coffee, at least I actually drink it."

I laughed a little, "I just said it." I smiled, shaking my head a little bit. "And that's funny cos when I make coffee I definitely don't drink it.."

"Hm...." I laugh slightly again. "Well, I guess we've figured out the fundamental difference between us. You drink tea, I drink coffee."

I bit my lip slightly for a second and shrugged, "Yeah.. I guess you did..." I paused for a moment. "... I asked you, right?" I asked after a couple seconds.

"I think so," I shrug. "But for the record, I've been fine." I hate when people do that, ordinarily - just give a one-word answer when asked how they've been. When I ask, I'm looking for detail... and would normally volunteer it myself, but there's nothing I can think of to say to him that would be tactful.
