"Yeah, fine," I say, shaking my head quickly.

I nodded faintly, "You don't want to take a look at it at least?" I asked crossing my arms in front of me lightly, glancing toward the area again.

"I... what?" I ask, pretending even more confusion than I actually have.

"You were touching your arm a lot and then you winced a bit ago.." I explained when she seemed confused. "Do you want me to take a look at it?" I asked again a moment later.

"No... it's fine," I say, shaking my head. "I already got it fixed up."

I nodded slightly, "So, um.. What happened then?" I asked a few moments later, since she said she already got it fixed up.

Damn. I'm now drawing a blank, which I'm sure doesn't look remotely suspicious, because I really ought to know that right off and only be standing here with my mouth partway open if I'm having trouble thinking of a lie. Which of course I am. "... Um...."

"... Unless you'd rather not tell me?" I asked slowly when all she said was 'um'. Either she didn't want to tell me, she literally couldn't remember what happened, so well, I don't know, those are the only two reasons I could think of.

"Well, not especially," I say finally, sighing a little. May as well be honest, I suppose.

I nodded again, "Okay.. So don't tell me then, I guess.." I said, putting my hands in my pockets.

"All right," I nod, relieved but a little surprised that he didn't press it.

"Doesn't mean I'm not curious though..." I said with a faint shrug, going against what I wanted to do, which is bother her until she told me something.

"So you'd rather I just told you then, but for once you aren't going to press it?" I ask, wavering on my resolve to absolutely not, under any circumstances, let him know that Riyann showed up at my house.

"That is precisely what I'm saying." I said nodding a little bit toward her. ".. Hard to believe I'm not going to bug you about it, isn't it?"

"Just a little," I nod. But nothing makes sense anymore, so why not?

I nodded a little bit. "I figure you don't have to tell me everything... but if the next time I see you and it's still bothering you, then I going to want to know."

"Should be healed up by then, I'd think." I shrug slightly. "I don't know." How long do stab wounds take to heal the muggle way, anyhow?
|
|
|
Post by Riley Pearson on Dec 14, 2008 18:48:55 GMT
"It's not healed yet?" I asked, feeling slightly confused now, "Why are you letting it heal the muggle way? This would all be a lot easier if you just let me do it now.." I said, shaking my head faintly, crossing my arms infront of me now.

"Well, obviously it's not healed yet, or it wouldn't hurt anymore," I point out, shrugging. He raises a very good point though. I mean, I know why I didn't much feel like going to Mungo's to get it healed up to begin with, but why am I stubbornly insisting on leaving it like that? and what the hell happens when Logan wonders why I've got a stab wound? That sounds like a fun conversation.

I paused for a moment and nodded. "Point taken.." I said, letting out a small sigh too. "So do you know I'm going to bug you about this now.." I added a moment later, "Either let me heal it, or I'm taking you to someone else who can.."

"No, it's fine," I say again, shaking my head. "Not like I'm openly bleeding or something, and muggles do it all the bloody time, just let things heal on their own, without magic. Nothing wrong with that."
|
|
|

"I know.. but I mean, it hurts.. at least a little bit.. Just let me heal it now, it'll stop hurting and you won't have scar." I said with a small shrug. "I won't even ask you how it happened."

"No, it -" -is perfectly fine that it hurts, I realize suddenly. Right, so that's what this is. Masochism again. Not that anybody needs to know that. "No, it's fine. Just... never mind. It's just a little scratch."
|
|
|
Post by Riley Pearson on Dec 14, 2008 19:12:31 GMT
"If it was just a little scratch then it would be healed by now." I countered back to her with another sigh. "Just please let me finish healing it."

I eye him for a minute, wavering, and then shake my head. "Call me stupid if you want to, but no... I'm good."

I sighed again and shrugged, "Fine.. Let me know if you change your mind." I said, deciding just to give in for the moment. I doubted that she was going to let me anyway, she seemed pretty stuck on letting it heal the muggle way. But why was it that she didn't want me to see it? Or tell me what happened?

I nod at that, shrugging. I really don't plan to change my mind at all.

Now here comes the awkward silience... I thought to myself with a small sigh, staring down at a spot on the ground, not knowing what I should be saying.. or what I should say next at least. That topic seemed to be a bit dead now..

"Sorry," I say after a moment, shaking my head. I don't even know what I'm apologizing for, but ah well.

I shrugged, "You don't have to apologize.." I told her as I looked back up to her.
