Worse and Worse [Riley]

[Aimee Baker]

Aimee sighed softly. Trying to watch four children at once was one of the hardest things that she has ever had to do. Sure, she's watched three on her own before but four just takes it up a notch. She's not really sure why, but it's so hard right now. And it's only getting worse and worse.
Granted, Gracie is just a baby so watching her is really just tending to her, and making sure she's still laying in her arms comfortably. ButThe twins, and Isabella. That's another thing. Something so much harder. Isabella always wanted to go off and explore, and she did so silently so Aimee never knew when she was here or when she was there. The twins were the polar oppsite.
They were so loud and disruptive that she always knew where they were and so did everyone else. Wild child, the both of them. William was really the worse of the two. Sighing softly Aimee set Gracie down into the stroller and then brought the twins over, one in each hand and serched for Isabella. She was over there talking to the postman, probably just rambleing on. Rushing over there saying a few quick 'sorry's Aimee brings them all back to where Gracie's stroller was sitting with all their mail ontop. Aimee had manged to get another, cheaper, and better home in Hosmead. It was close to Hogawarts so that was good.
Closeing her eyes, Aimee was just really tired.
This was what raiseing four kids on her own was like, she assumed.
Trying to walk out Aimee started to think about Riley and a small smile came onto her face. She's gotten past the instant thought of 'That's Riley!' or 'He's married!', and just clung to all the happy memories

[Riley Pearson]

"Dad, why can't you just leave us at the house? We're ten years old." Charlotte said with a small sigh as we walked down the streets of Hogsmeade. Ella was next to her, her arms crossed across her chest as they walked. "I think we're old enough for you to trust us." She continued as we went.
"No.. Girls, please don't try to fight with me on this.. I'm not leaving you home alone." I told her, shaking my head a little bit. I had a letter to send and not having an owl or any other way to send it, I thought coming here would be the next best thing. Even if I did have to take Justin, Charlotte and Ella with me.
"But we wouldn't be alone." Ella started, speaking up now instead of Charlotte. "We'd have eachother."
"Which is even worse. Ask me again in three years." I said continueing to push the stroller down the street, coming up to the post office now.
They both sighed and just stayed quiet now, which I was thankful for becuase I was starting to get a headache.
I ushered the girls into the door and pushed the stroller through, only to see Aimee with all her kids.
I waved a bit to her when I saw her, walking closer to her, "Hey Aims.." I said with a small smile.
I wonder how she was doing lately. I hadn't seen her in a while and she looked like she was really tired.

Aimee grinned, but weakly when she saw Riley. Speak of the devil...Think of the devil. oh well.
She ahdn't seen RIley since a couple days after she had given birth to Gracie, she not's really sure why she hadn't been visiting Riley, but it's probably because she frankly hasn't had any time. Gracie woke up at that moment and started to whimper softly. All three of her kids crowded around the stroller. No, they weren't trying to ten to her. They always got around her and just stared at her when she started crying. Isabella had done the same thing when the twins were babies. Gracie settled down, like she normally did before AImee ahd time to get to her to tend to her. Aimee was grateful for.
"Long time no see Riley," She said running a hand through her hair.

I smiled to her when she grinned weaking to me, just remembering something that Isabella told me about Aimee supposedly having a thing for me. But she was just a kid, which to me, meant that words could easily be twisted. Aimee could've said anything about me and it could have somehow been made to think that she did have some kind of thing for me.
I was thinking about asking her at one point, but I doubted it was true anyway, so I just let it drop.
"Yeah.. You look, really tired... You been doing okay?" I asked her, being glad that the girls and Justin were behaving.

Aimee shurgged a little, smile still in place. "Good as I can, I suppose." She said. Which was true. Single mothers already had it hard enough. Single mothers of four...Well Aimee knew how hard it was.
"What about you? What you been up to, huh?" She asked, with a smile that some may say was a little flirty.
For half a second the fact that he was married and that he loved Riyann, but she quickly passed that by. In Aimee eyes there was still a little bit of hope that there could be an Aimee and Riley, just maybe.

I nodded slightly to her answer. I could completely understand where she was coming from. I was bascially a single parent right now, except when Riyann actually get get back home for a day or two. I really wish that everything would just stop so I could experience something that was... at least, partially normal. Whatever normal is..
As she was speaking, I noticed the slightly flirty smile she was giving me. That was.. strange, to say the least and I definately wasn't expecting that. It went away after a moment though, leaving me rubbing the back of my neck for a moment, ruffling some of my hair in the process. "Um.." I said letting out a faint chuckle, "Just these three.. and work." I said with a small nod.

[Aimee Baker]

Aimee chuckled softly. "Wow Riley. Such an intresting life," She grinned with a teaseing gleam. The two have known each other so much that he'd probably be able to tell that she was joking as she spok.
Aimee still couldn't shake that feeling in the pit of her stomach. Wasn't anything like the feeling she ahd when she was near Kaloris, and it wasn't close, but it was still there. Aimee thought that maybe that was a sign that they were supposed to be together. They've known each other so long and they were so close. Why not? The small smile stayed on her lips as she looked over at Riley.

I laughed a little and nodded at what she said. "Yep... That's me." I said with a small grin. I went to put my hands in my pockets when I realised I was still holding my letter. Somehow forgetting that I hadn't mailed it yet.
"Hey, um.. Lemme just mail this letter real quick.. Then you wanna hang out for a bit?" I asked her after a moment. I hadn't really talked to her much lately, so it'd be cool. "Unless you already have plans?" I added, since really, I had just run into her. For all I knew she had to be somewhere.

Aimee grinned and nodded. "Course I do," She said to him. Aimee really didn't have anything to do today. Really the only thing that she really had to do now is work at her job at The Three Broomsticks, and take care of the kids. Lucky for her, she worked only durring the week.

[Riley Pearson]

"Course you want to hang out, or course you already have plans?" I asked her with a small laugh, smiling lightly to her as I shook a couple pieces of hair from my face.

[Aimee Baker]

"Course I've got plans, I mean I'm a busy person Riley. Why on earth would I ever have time to hang out with you?" She teased, still flirting a little. "That was an obvivous question Riley. Course I want to hang out with you." She grinned.

I thought she was serious for a few seconds and then let out a small laugh when I realised that she wasn't. "Cool.. Then um.. I'll be right back." I said with a small smile to her before going over to mail my letter.
I came back a moment or two later with a smile, my hands in my pockets. "So um.. Where're we going then?" I asked as Justin started cry and I picked up him, so he would settle down a bit.

"Well it's you, me nd seven kids. That kind of narrows things down a bit." She chuckled softly. "You want to see my new house?" She offered.

[Riley Pearson]

I laughed a little bit and nodded, "Right.. seven kids.." I said with a small chuckle, smiling lightly. "Yeah, sure." I said with another small nod. "Sounds good."

[Aimee Baker]

"OKay, it's right down the road." She told him. Aimee got the kids to move out of the way of the stroller so they wouldn't be plowed down, and had Isabella hold onto both of the twins hands and walked out. She held the door open for Riley, looking back at him.

I smiled and nodded lightly , "Sounds good.." I said before putting Justin cack into his stroller and gathering the kids. I thanked Aimee when she held the door for me and smield to her as I exited.
