I kicked a small pebble that was lying next to the lake as I walked past it. It was slightly chilly outside and unlike the past couple of days, it was cloudy instead of sunny. Which, honestly, I didn't realy mind. I loved autum.. even if it wasn't here yet, it felt like it was coming. I glanced over to the lake and then back to the ground as I just watched my own feet take steps, ultimately heading nowhere as I did. I couldn't get Mason off my mind lately, which was really bothering me. But besides that I'd say that I was pretty good. I was doing okay in my classes and I found that when I studying or doing homework, I was too distracted to think about him and how we couldn't be anything, despite what I know we, or at least I, am feeling. A few moments passed and I walked over to a tree, plunking down infront of it, leaning my head against it's wide trunk. I sighed slightly and just looked out a the lake, almost feeling sort of tired now.

Up until now, Jessie had spent the day in the library working on the numerous essays assigned to her by her teachers. The potions one had been a snap. That class was easily her favorite and best. The transfigurations one on the other hand had taken her what seemed like hours. Jessie still had a ancient runes essay to write, and some charms to practice, but she needed a break.
Jessie found herself wandering around the grounds of Hogwarts heading toward the lake. Oddly enough, the weather was taking a turn for the worse. Instead of the typical sun of this time of year, the sky was filled with gloomy gray clouds. Jessie glanced around the grounds as a breeze blew past, causing some green leaves to rustle. Soon the trees would be like flaming torches, and not long after, they would be bare. Jessie noticed a lone girl sitting under a tree, and thought about walking toward her.

I gave another small sigh and looked up, glancing over the lake, seeing the giant squid splash some water up every few moments. I was startng to wish that I had brought something out here to do other than just sit. It was pretty boring.. not to mention chilly. The wind picked up again and put on another hoodie over the one that I was already wearing. I looked around the area and saw a girl walking, I thought I noticed her look over to me but I just shrugged it off and looked back out to the lake.
[[ srry xD i forgot about this.. haven't been on this charrie in a while ]

It's now or never Jessie thought as she neared the tree where the girl sat. Her natural instincts told her to ignore the girl, and continue walking by herself. But Jessie didn't want to do that. She was sick of being the shy girl, who nobody knew. Without taking a second thought, Jessie walked over to the girl and said, "Hey."

I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard a hey from beside me and looked over to the girl who had spoken. I gave her a small smile. "Hi." I said friendily back to her. Actually, I was pretty grateful for the distraction and as long as this girl wasn't completely and utterly mean, I really wouldn't mind having a conversation with her. Unfortunately, I wasn't positive what I should say now. I didn't know her, so I could tell her who I was, or I could just ask her if she wants to sit with me? I didn't really know so I stayed quiet for a moment. "Um.." I said with a small chuckle. "I'm Mei." I said, holding a hand out to her.

When she girl actually responded, Jessie was slightly surprised. She kept to herself so much, that the tone of others voice often started her. "I'm Jessie." she responded with a smile. Jessie shook her hand. "Hope you don't mind me coming over here. I was just sick of being out here alone." Jessie said.

"Nice to meet you." I said with a small nod and smile, taking my hand back after she shook it. I shook my head a little, "Nah, it's fine. I was kind of lonely anyway." I said with the same small smile.

"Its nice to meet you too." Jessie said with a smile. Secretly, Jessie was glad that she was lonely. That way she wasn't the only one. "Oh good, because I wouldn't want to be bothering you or something." Jessie said.

I smiled for another few seconds and then shook my head again, "Not bothering me at all.. I was actually sort of bored." I admitted to her with a small laugh. "You can sit down if you want."

Jessie sat down under the tree, and said in agreement, "Yeah. Theres not much to do out here." To Jessie, the conversation felt completly awkward. She had no idea who this girl was. Jessie wondered if Mei felt the same way.

I couldn't decide if this coversation was awkward or not. It was in a way becuase I really had no idea who she was, and the only thing I knew about her was that her name was Jessie. I nodded slightly, "Yeah.. guess there isn't." I said, glancing over to the squid one more time. "...So.. what house are you in? I don't think I recongise you.. so I'm guessing not Gyrffindor?"

"No way could I ever be a Gryffindor." Jessie said laughing. Besides for her shy personality, Jessie was known for her lack of courage. "I'm just your typical Ravenclaw." Jessie said.

I laughed a little bit and shrugged slightly, "Never know." I said simply with a small smile. "Ravenclaw.. that's cool though.. I don't think I could ever be in Ravenclaw." I added with a small laugh.

"Why? Because you think your not smart enough?" Jessie asked. In her years in the Ravenclaw house, she learned that you didn't need typical smarts to be in Ravenclaw. "All you need to do is try." she said with a smile.

I smiled and nodded a little bit. "That'd be the reason.. and I don't like studying much.." I said, shaking my head a little bit. "But yeah.. I guess so." I added with a smile and shrug.

"Well then look at it this way. Its a good thing you're not in Ravenclaw. The sorting hat knows what best for you." Jessie said smiling. There was nothing special about Ravenclaw students besides there brains, so most really cared about upholding the Ravenclaw stereotype.

I laughed a little and nodded. "I agree.. I'm pretty content with Gryffindor." I told her with a smile and small nod.
