t's summertime in New York City, and this past year at Westbrook High has been nothing short of eventful. When a fire burns down a neighboring high school, a new clique called the Five Virtues is forced to join in at Westbrook for the remainder of the year. Only problem? This school already has it's top bitches, and the two cliques are out for blood! And as if that wasn't enough for your entertainment, by summers end everything has changed; chances were taken - people we once knew became past - lives were ruined - dreams were faded. This is what happens when a terrifying school shooting that kills the people you thought you would live on with - grow with - love with sums up your year. Some believe the gunmen were just crazy mad; others believe their killing spree was fueled by none other than the infamous clique, the Seven Sins; some just don't want to believe at all!I
Summers that were once full of adventure, parties, lust, and relaxation are quickly becoming a part of the past. But the summer is not the only thing that has changed; people we thought we knew are anyone but themselves. Isabelle Lemeir: the girl who used to be the 'bitch sin' is no longer the life of the party. Carmen Lemeir: the girl who acted on the spot - usually carefree - now always keeps a distance. But, of course, some will always stay the same. Greenlee Callaway: one of the students injured in this massacre has more hate than ever for the Sins - they are reason for her wound; the reason people lost lives. Although at first glance most of the Sins may seem heartless, most feel guilty for the death of their own, Aubree Bosworth.
While some are trying to move forward with life and follow their dreams; others want to live in the past and never face what reality brought. Some are trying to make this summer one to remember with parties, concerts, flings, and vacations, while some of the prettiest faces want to stay locked away from the world - never to face what they lost. It's going to hurt when you realize it's really gone, but when you live in the city of lights you can't hide away. Will things ever go back to how they used to be - the right way - or will things just remain broken? Only time will tell, but for now it's time to sit back and let the Bright Lights take you away.
