She loved the days she had to herself around the house. The kids were gone, Alex was gone. It was her day. That, she barely had. She maybe had one day to herself every three months, if she was lucky. Brendyn never wanted to leave her side, Molly was being weird, and Dakota wouldn't quit being a daredevil.
Briar was currently laying on one of the sofas in the living room, watching TV. She had her favorite shirt, it was a plain white, lacy shirt. It flowed around her. And some dark skinny jeans. She still had to look presentable here, which she didn't like. She was eating some potato chips watching a show she didn't know of. Either way, she was relaxed. She didn't have to clean, cook, nothing.
She bit into a potato chip and closed her eyes as commercials for muggle products came on. She didn't like commercials. She was thinking of the encounter with Logan. It wasn't a good one. She hadn't cried that much in years, not since she left him the first time. She kept thinking of what Logan said just before he left. She couldn't leave Alex in the dust, not after everything he's done. And she does feel something for him. That's what she hated in this situation. "Damn it," She whispered, putting her hands to her forehead.

Rubalyn sighs, glancing down at her yellow shirt that went down to her midthigh and khaki pants. She also had a black thick belt under her chest leaving those buttons undone above the belt as she heard her black high heels clacking against the stone pathway up to the house.
She hated it here more than Shelby did. The last time she was here was when she was separated from this body and had one of her own. Wasn't too fond of a memory to say the least. Rubalyn knocks on the door wincing a bit when she seen the same butler from her six year childhood answer the door and instantly bowed so he was almost on the ground right by her feet. It was funny, the moment he looked at her eyes he knew it wasn't Shelby.
Rolling her eyes she steps over him and walks into house, hearing a few whispers as she passed but kept walking, hearing her black bangles glash against each other as the same silver pocketwatch necklace that was Jay's still hung from her neck. "There you are Briar." she says with a Shelby like grin as she looked at what she believed was a television. This place is definately slipping. Wonder how long they've had muggle junk in this house...

Briar was brought out of her thoughts when she heard a knock at the door. She was tempted to get it herself, but the butler got there before she did. She made an ugly face at him and looked back at the television. She was glad that she had talked Alex into getting one, she would go crazy without it. Some muggle things were good, like television.
Hearing her best friends voice, she stood up from the couch and turned around to look at her. She was wearing something she wasn't expecting. Her eyebrows rose up slightly at the choice the she looked into her eyes. It took her a moment to realize it wasn't her. That was kind of sad. The usual kind eyes were gone, much like Briar's right now. Her eyes narrowed at her sharply and she crossed her arms over her chest and rose only one brow this time, "May I help you?"

Rubalyn raised an eyebrow at her as well, shaking her head a bit at her as the few brown curls that were dangling down in her face shook as well. "What's with that? You may help me by spending time with me Bri." she smiles again before plopping down on the couch and picked up some small device and pointed it at the box. Turning the channel she frowns a bit, confused on what was so thrilling about this thing.
"I came by to visit my bestest friend. Just wanted to see if you wanted to do something today seeing as my father is out. We could jump on couches, get ice cream, anything you want." she says with a light smile as she peered over the arm of the couch as she twirled the pocketwatch in her fingers.

Briar stared at her hard for a moment, not moving from where she was standing. She knew it wasn't Shelby, because her childishness had left her after what happened with Jay. She knew it had to be Rubalyn. Shelby would never dye her hair brown. She hated the color on her hair, blonde showed who she was. "Who are you trying to fool, Rubalyn?" She asked her in a curious tone. "Because you sure aren't fulling me 'Rubi.' " She said the nickname for the pure fact that she called her Bri, like they were best friends or something.
"You're just pulling yourself even more into the light. Shelby doesn't do any of that stuff with me anymore. That left her years ago," She muttered, her mind flashing back to when they were in Hogwarts and did all that stuff. Then drama started up and everything fell out of place. The three muskateers had even fell apart. "Here's an idea! You get out," She said in a sickly sweet tone.

Rubalyn stared at her with a sigh before sitting up and taking Briar's hands. "But Bri, I don't know what you're talking about. I did dye my hair back to this, I needed a change. Hence why I want to go out and do something with you today. I already went with Andra to get ice cream and we danced in the rain." she says with a smile. "Come on please?" she asks pouting slightly, just like Shelby used to.
"I'm not leaving Briar." she says shaking her head and walking over to a portrait of Alex, Shelby and Jenny. They actually looked somewhat happy, not the forced smiles that was in every photo in this horrid house called a home. What the hell is going on around here? She turns around and walks back over to Briar tilting her head to the side. "Are you sure I'm Rubi, Briar? I think you're a bit tired sweetie." she says kissing her cheek lightly before giving her a light smile.

Briar glared at her and snatched her hands back, crossing her arms over her chest once more. "Well, Andra is more gullible than I am. How dumb do you think I am? Shelby's eyes are more kind than yours are, I know it's you Rubalyn." She stood her ground, letting her know that she wasn't going to give up. She was very stubborn, people knew that. And she always had the last word. When she pulle the pout, she shook her head. Parenting has helped her tons, "Nope."
"Fine then. Don't. I'll just have the butler annoy you the whole time you're here." She watched her as she looked at a recent picture of Shelby, Jenny, and Alex. She loved that picture, it was natural. Not forced. That's what she loved about it. "I'm not tired!" She exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air. "I've had tons of rest, thank you very much."

Rubalyn sighs and sits back down on the couch. "What do I have to do to prove to you that I'm Shelby Briar?" she asks biting her lip. Much to everyone's belief, she really had changed a bit. "I'll do anything..." she adds feeling a tear actually falling down her face. That had to get to her. Rubalyn never cried, only Shelby did. "Please Briar?" she asks standing back up and looking at her 'friend' before kissing her on the lips softly. Rubalyn knew how they kissed before, she was somewhat present for it and did it exactly the same as Shell would have before pulling away a second later while looking into her eyes waiting to see if that would convince her or not.
