Ariella looked up and Charlotte ran over to the door, eyes slightly wide. Opening it a small crack she peered out to see who it was and then shut the door again, leaning her back against it. They didn't want to tell either of them what happened.

I smiled a little when I saw the door open, but before I knew it again, I saw the door shut agian and was lsighlty taken aback. "Can I come in?"

"Nope." Charlotte called, shaking her head lightly, biting her lip a moment later. "I'm changing." Ella called to give him reason instead, but she was just laying across the bed where the both of them had been a moment earlier.

"Okay.." I called back to them. "Well, do you guys wanna talk? Or do you think you just wanna head to bed? Or get somethng to eat?"

Charlotte looked at Ariella, not sure what to answer, it wasn't like they wanted to talk, no that was out of the question, they didn't want to sleep, but what if he started talking while they were eating? "Food?" Ariella called almost timidly.

"Okay.. well.. you guys feel like anything?" I asked through the door, still standing outside of this. I really wasn't planning on making them talk to me about this if they didn't want to, but I was going to ask eventually to see if they knew how the fire started.

"Okay.. I'll be right back then.." I said before waiting a moment and walking away from their down and down the stairs to the kitchen. I looked around the kitchen, wondering what was even there. They had just left yesterday so I was thinking the food would still be okay, if they didn't already eat it or throw it out. The fridge was pretty empty but the freezer had some things in it. After a few moments, I thawed some bread and cheese and made a few toasted cheese sandwhiches and got a few juice boxes from the fridge. I put them all on a tray and walked back up to their room about twenty minutes later.
I knocked on their door again and opened it this time, just assuming they'd be dressed by now since it'd been a while. "Hey.." I said with a small smile to them.

Hearing him walk away Charlotte let out a small sigh before going over to the bed and laying down beside her sister again. "What're we going to do? They'll find out sometime." Char whispered, looking up at the ceiling as she did. Ariella just shrugged and they layed there until Riley came in with food. "Hey dad." They chimmed together, still not wanting to talk.

I smiled a little bit to them and set down the tray on the bed, sitting down at the foot of it. "So are you guys doing okay?" I asked looking at the two of them.

The twins smiled at the food and then at Riley as he came over to the bed with it. "Yup." "Perfect."

I raised my eyebrows slightly at their answers and nodded a little bit. "Are you sure? I mean.." I stopped talking staying quiet now, were they not upset at all?

Ariella dove in and grabbed up a sandwich. "Well for what we can be dad." Char said, going for a sandwich herself.

I nodded slightly, "Okay..." I said, then picking up a sandwhich myself and taking a bite. A few moments later I looked up to them again. "So where were you two anyway?"

Charlotte shoved a large bite in her mouth, leaving Ariella to answer this time and she chewed slowly before she answered. "Playing outside." Ariella said, wondering if she should've lied and said that they were inside and ran outside.

I nodded slightly, "Okay.." I said looking down at my sandwhich for a moment. "Just make sure to tell or mum or me next time you go outside, okay?"

I nodded slightly, staying quiet now. "Okay.." I said with another small nod. I finished my sandwhich a few moments later and then said, "Well, if you guys need anything me and your mum'll be in the room next door.. so um.. maybe I'll leave you girls alone now for the night.."
