"For the last time, NO! I do not want that colour, I want that colour," Angel yelled, pointing to a robe the exact same colour as the one she was wearing, however Angel did not want it for herself. Madam Malkin was an old friend of the family, so Angel decided to go in and pay a visit to her, however when she arrived there was a rather... proportionate woman who was pointing to two different robes, both the exact same shade of blue. Angel was currently making fun of the woman who had just made such a large scene that even Angel was embarrassed for her. However, Malkin had to get back to work, so Angel was just sat there alone, with nothing to do and no one to talk to. She sighed, closing her eyes and humming a little to herself. [/blockquote]

Today's quick trip to Madam Malkin's is turning out to be more entertaining than I ever expected - not that that's difficult considering how little I was looking forward to it. It almost seems pointless to buy robes at all considering how infrequently I go near the wizarding world. I've been living like a muggle so long that I often forget about magic entirely.
But, being something of a packrat, I've decided it's still necessary to have a set of robes "just in case" - and unfortunately mine just got turned into streamers by a pair of small children playing school. But at least, as I half-heartedly look through the racks of robes and try to drum up some sort of interest in what I'm doing, I have something to distract me.
I glance over surreptitiously for about the dozenth time at the woman who helped cause the scene, now humming to herself with her eyes closed. Shaking my head, I return to the racks again and try not to look too amused.

Angel opened her eyes and looked around the store, sighing in boredom. "I need someone to annoy..." She said thoughtfully, some of her old childish feelings coming back to her. She didn't know what came over her, but she quickly stood up and walked over to the the first person she saw. Smiling brightly, Angel waved to the girl in front of her. "Hi!" She said, still waving. "I'm Angel Simons," she introduced, wondering if she'd met the girl before. [/blockquote]

“Hello….” I say, a little bit bemused, as I turn to find the girl… woman? …that I was watching with amusement suddenly beside me – so much so that it takes me a moment to realize I should introduce myself as well. I shake my head slightly. “Ah… Arden Patricks. Hello. How might you be?”
I can’t think what else to ask, so it really just slips out. But now that I’ve said it I have the funny feeling that I know the name Angel Simons. Having only about eleven years and change worth of memories, I sometimes think it’s easier for me to remember things from those eleven years than it is for other people.

Angel stood there for a moment, thinking about the name She'd definitely heard it before. Then, it hit her. "Arden Patricks, Hufflepuff at Hogwarts. We went to school together!" She said, smiling and laughing a little at the odd circumstances in which the two met again. "I'm alright, I suppose. How have you been?" She asked. Angel and Arden had never really been that close as friends, so Angel didn't think it right to ask personal questions as the first few sentences of a conversation. [/blockquote]

"Pretty good...." I laugh slightly, then shake my head, still not completely caught up to the conversation I don't think. "We... yes... we did go to school, didn't we?" I frown slightly now, remembering something about a tortoise teapot, and also pretty sure that I heard Luke, Dahlia's husband, mention her name once after a very long pause when I asked if he'd ever had friends.

Angel couldn't really remember anything that her and Arden had talked about really, and as they weren't really friends she couldn't really remember much about Arden herself. "So how old are you?" She asked, still eager to make new friends and such. However, Angel wished she hadn't just made a fool of herself in front of a potential new friend. At least it made her seem crazy rather than just downright cruel. [/blockquote]

"Twenty-seven," I laugh slightly, shaking my head, as this seems an odd question to start off a conversation with. "I think... we met once when I was in about sixth year... in Transfiguration detention, if I remember right."

Angel nodded, remembering a little more. "I'm twenty seven too. Yay us!" She yelled, cheering. She could now remember that day clearly in her head and it brought a small smile to her face. They talked about the oddest of things, and yet it was still a fun way to spend her day. Plus, she made a sort of new friend from it. That day was a good day for Angel. "So have you been up to anything much?" She asked, smiling at Arden. [/blockquote]

"In the last eleven years?" I laugh slightly, shaking my head. "No... I've done nothing at all, in fact. How about you?" I really don't remember her very well at all, because it's not as though we were very close friends. We met one time and then Kyra whatever-her-name-was told me Angel Simons wasn't around anymore.

Angel laughed a little. "Such interesting lives we lead, huh?" She asked, smiling at Arden. "What's your favourite colour?" She asked. As Angel had never had the chance to get to know Arden before, she figured that now was as good a time as any. After all, you could never have too many friends, and Arden seemed like a nice person to have around.

"Um... dark blue, I suppose." I shake my head slightly, bemused again, and return to the rack of clothing I was looking at though I'm not really looking right now, just trying to escape this strange conversation for a moment.

Angel watched what Arden was doing and slapped her head lightly. "Of course, you're shopping. I shouldn't disturb you any longer. What are you looking for?" She asked, wondering if she could help Arden look. It would be quicker and a lot more fun for the both of them if they did it together. It would give them both someone to talk to and Angel something to do. [/blockquote]

I grimace slightly, sighing and turning back. That was rather rude, come to think of it. "Honestly, I don't know what I'm looking for... and I don't really care to continue. But what about you, if you're not shopping?"

Angel shrugged, then smiled. "Madam Malkin is an old family friend. I decided to come and pay her a visit. Hell, I've had nothing better to do the past few weeks. Hey, how about we go and get a drink together so we can get to know one another a little better?" She suggested, a huge, warm smile on her face. It had been a while since she'd gone for a drink to get to know someone better. She figured it would be rather nice. Providing Arden wanted to, of course. [/blockquote]

I glance briefly at the racks of clothes, perhaps to remind myself how much I'd rather be anywhere but here, then nod and grin briefly. "All right... I don't see why not. I take it you've seen Madam Malkin already then?"

She nodded, smiling a little. "Yup, all done. Let us go! My treat. I'll pay," she offered, making sure she had all of her things before turning to walk out of the store. She waved briefly at Madam Malkin, before turning to Arden and smiling. "You ready to go?" She asked. [/blockquote]

"No, you don't have to do that," I say immediately, shaking my head. I won't even let my friends buy me things half the time, much less someone that I barely even know. "And yep... I've been ready to go since I got here." I grimace slightly at the clothing.

Angel laughed, noticing the grimace at the clothing. "I know that she's my friend and all, but Madam Malkin doesn't really make the nicest, most fashionable clothes in the world, does she?," she asked, laughing a little. Angel hated clothes shopping anyway, let alone in a store like that. She was fine with muggle shopping, but wizarding shopping was just a nightmare for her. "Lead the way then!" She said, suddenly realising she had no idea where she was going at all. [/blockquote]

"Oh, it's all right," I shrug, a little startled. "I just don't like clothes shopping in general. But my niece destroyed my only pair of dress robes, so for some reason I thought I'd get new ones." I shrug again, hesitating slightly. I suppose we must be going to the Leaky Cauldron, but the fact that she's asked me to lead is too off-putting for a moment for me to remember where that is. We can still leave the store though, at least, so I shrug yet again and hold the door open on my way out.

"The only reason I asked you to lead is because I actually have no idea where I'm going anymore... I found my way here by asking a weird old man. I seriously don't have any clue where I'm going nowadays," she explained, walking out of the door. She looked down the street and shrugged her shoulders, showing to Arden that she couldn't remember where anything was and that she had no idea to get anywhere."Left or right?" [/blockquote]

I frown slightly, biting my lip, and then shrug. "Right...." I say a little uncertainly, then nod. "Yes, it's right. I'm positive. And you know you really shouldn't ask strangers for directions," I add, raising my eyebrows. I don't know if I've actually known her long enough to tease her like that, but somehow it slips out. Maybe I've been spending too much time babysitting.

Angel laughed and shrugged. "I'm sure I can take care of myself," she replied, sticking her tongue out at the girl. She then smiled, missing how she used to act like a child all of the time. Now she was an adult, things had certainly changed. She was frowned upon for acting like that, but she didn't care. Angel loved acting like a child and she wasn't going to change for anything.
