David was quite weirded out, to put it simply. This wasn't right. He'd had ten minutes of uninterrupted peace. Usually, the second he picked up a book and sat down it'd be cue for the attack of the offspring. It seemed both Hayden and Joshua had a sense that told them when he wasn't being bothered enough and a moral obligation to fix it by bothering him. Daniel and Daniella...not as much, but it still seemed to be existent in them. He didn't mind, much as he said he did. He hadn't gotten the chance to sit around and read like he used to for years anyway, and he quite simply didn't really care for what had once been his only vice.
Drumming his fingers absently on the spine of his favourite and well-worn copy of a 'The Golden Apples Of The Sun', he came to the conclusion that he was so used to not being able to read when he found the time to due to distractions that maybe - horror of horrors - he'd quite forgotten how to concentrate at all. With a small and barely audible sigh, he loosened his grip on the page he was holding open and let the book fall shut, glancing around at the empty living room.
Now that he came to think of it, not only was he distractionless...but it was also silent. This must mean that no one else was home, or else that Emma wasn't home and the kids had taken the opportunity to sneak around and plan something at either his expense or to get him trouble of some kind.
Or maybe, he allowed himself to think this only grudgingly in case he got his hopes up, they really had been kind enough to allow him ten minutes of peace. Yes...and I'm Jesus... He rolled his eyes slightly at this, wondering why his subconscious hadn't quite figured out yet that sarcasm is wasted on yourself.
Setting his book aside, he got cautiously to his feet and decided that maybe it was best to be on his guard. He wasn't excessively paranoid...just paranoid to a healthy degree and therefore he would be on his guard. He headed into the kitchen, glancing briefly over his shoulder periodically at the very and suspiciously empty hallway, before he felt safe once again as he stood by the sink and could easily see the reflection of the room behind in the window in front of him. Yeah, it must be safe here.
Although, it still didn't feel safe. He was being tricked somehow, they were planning something. They always seemed to be planning something, and the peace was the calm before the storm. That must be it, it was the only possible outcome of what was happening. He poured himself a glass of water, turning and leaning against the counter, and decided here was as good a place as any to wait around for the storm to hit. Or maybe he was just being excessively paranoid.

Walking up the drive, a slight breeze flowing through the air Emma knew that she should have come home earlier. Her orginal plan had been to just go over to Maddie and Ians for a few minutes to to check up on them, go on home and that be that. At that moment, Emma had no idea what she was thinking. Only going over there for a few minutes was pointless because it was impossible. Emma and Maddie always start chatting up a little, and Emma always ends up chatting a little with Ian also. And given the fact that Emma had brought all of her children with her wasn't the best idea if she only wanted to be there for a few moments, becuase in the time she spent chatting with Ian and Maddie the four of them split up.
See, Joshua went to go and play with Abby because she had been the one closest to his age and the only that held his attention long enough. Daniel and Hayden had gone and played with Alex. All would seem fine right? Her children were entertaining themselves and that is something good. Not so much. Because somewhere along the line Daniella had ran off somewhere unknown to Emma, Maddie, Daniel, Hayden and Alex. So for a good twenty minutes Emma spent that time serching for Daniella only to find her laying on the floor behind the sofa in the living room.
So as Emma walked up the drive to her home Emma's mind went over a mental list that had popped into her mind. She currently feels- • stupid because Daniella had only been behind the sofa • a little upset because Daniella had been behind the sofa the whole time But what was at the top though, was the fact that she was a little worried because Emma had left the home with all four children without telling David that she was leaving for a little bit with all four children.
Emma could see Hayden and Joshua run straight for the kitchen door, opening it best they could and plowing into the home. Daniel and Daniella weren't much behind them but they were walking at a normal pace a few feet in front of Emma. Emma could hear the the yells of her two youngest, screaming 'Dad!'. Before she even got knew the door the children had left hanging open, she knew it was safe to assume that David was in the kitchen.
Walking in just in time to see Joshua latching himself onto David and the other three running up stairs to do God knows what, Emma chuckled closeing the door behind her. "Hey," She grinned to David. [/blockquote]

David should really have known better. His paranoia constantly got the best of him. And to think for a moment he really thought the kids could be that quiet for that long...as if, even if they were planning something, no. He was definitely a little crazy, it seemed.
"Hey Hayden, Hey Josh," He laughed slightly as he was greeted with the usual yells, then grinned slightly as Daniel and Daniella came through the kitchen door shortly afterwards, "Hey Daniel, hey Daniella."
He leant forward slightly, hauling Joshua up into his arms and balancing him on his hip with the unerring skill of someone who's done so too many times, "Hello you. Where you been? Had me worried there." Then he looked up at Emma with a grin, "Hey." He liked having such a big family, even if it did call for greetings to be overused. He wasn't entirely sure just how many times he'd just said 'hey'.

Josh grinned, always one that liked getting attention of any form. "Mum took us out, blame her," He grins up to David as he pointed over at Emma. Emma chuckled softly softly, settng her bag on the table then walking over to where David was holding Josh. She ruffled his hair slightly, then smoothed it back into place. "Three years old and he's already saying that," Emma said with a weak grin down at Josh before kissing his forehead.
Emma looked up at David, "I blame you," She teased putting a hand on his cheek as an affectionate greeting. She let her hand go back down to her side then walked over to the fridge to see what was needed because she was going to have to go to the store to re-stock everything pretty soon. "Been too bored whil we were gone?" Emma asked rasing a slender eyebrow, grin still in place looking over at David. Emma could faintly hear Daniel and Daniella and Hayden running around upstairs about it, but Emma only looked up the the cieling briefl knowing that it was fine...for now. [/size]

"It's always Mum's fault," David chuckled softly, keeping his voice low and conspirative as if he intended Emma not to hear. Joshua's concept of a whisper was normal volume at the moment anyway, so he probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
"Not my fault," He grinned, unable to return the greeting as he was still holding Josh. He hauled himself up onto the counter as she went over to the fridge, moving Joshua round so he could sit on his lap instead and clasping his hands in front of him so he couldn't make a mad leap of the counter as he might be so inclined to do. "I'm getting too paranoid," He admitted, with a wry laugh, "I thought I was being plotted against."

Walking over to the sink Emma moves around some of the clean dishes, looking to see if they were all really clean. She picks up a towel and tries to dry some of the wet spots. Emma really had no idea why she had such a nag to clean at times. Emma would just assume it be the fact that she's really grown up in the mind, in a sense but the fact that it's only sometimes is what makes her wonder. She looks over and laughs softly, hitting David lightly in the arm with the damp towel. "I heard that." She says, grin still in place she he'd know that she was joking.
"Aw, your not getting paranoid. Because one, you've always been slightly paranoid and we are plotting agiainst you. We just go over to Jack and Rose's when we plot against you. Jack has better idea's than Ian and Maddie." Emma grinned with a teaseing gleam in her eye. Emma glanced down at Josh and saw him trying to move Davids hands from around him. "Dad!" He whines dragging out the 'a', "I wanna fly!" [/blockquote]

"And there's me hoping to be inconcspicous," He laughed slightly, then nodded at the dishes, "You know those are already clean, they just need to dry." He couldn't really understand the fascination with clean and how it sporadically took effect. Things were just going to get dirty again, especially with all the kids in the house.
"Jack and I will be having words about this, rest assured," He laughed, then glanced down at Josh, "Hmm...well, when Mum's gone to work, we can levitate you off the roof...how's that?"

"Yeah, I know." Emma nodded, shurgging slightly as she pulled herself up onto the counter next to him. Emma looked down at her hand and glanced at the ring on her finger. She made no big deal out of it, just a very small smile and ti was only for a fraction of a second, but just enough for Emma to look at it.
Josh tilted his head back looking at David upside down and grinned, nodding his head best he could. "Yeah, yeah." Josh said quickly. "No," Emma said with a wry grin down at Josh. "You're no fun mum," Josh stated simply crossing his arms infront of his chest. "Terribly sorry," Emma chuckled. "And Jack will say nothing. I've made sure of that," [/blockquote]

"Shush, Josh," David grinned down at his son, "We don't tell her. We'll do it secretly," He joked. He laughed at his next statement as well. David was the one that was no fun, and he was pretty aware of that. He was really quite boring as far as individuals go, and Emma was a much more interesting parent. Oh the joys of a fickle child, he supposed. He was almost dreading the time when Josh and Hayden would stop being so easily amused by insincere statements. "Jack will tell me everything," David chuckled, "Or I will blackmail him."
