Kim sighed happily as she poured over the heavy book that lay in her arms. She was sat with her back straight against the wall and her legs crossed in on the of the corners on the library. The quiet and peace in the library could always calm her, and the smell of books always made her smile. She was admittedly a bit of a geek. But she definately didn't look like one. She had always been a very pretty girl, and always seemed to have a smile on her face, though that was sometimes for the sake of others. After her dad died, Kim was the one that had to be strong for her step-mother, even though she had been so young. She had grown up quite quickly because of this and was quite mature for her age. Sometimes she felt like she didn't really fit in with the other pupils in her school. But she reassured herself with the fact that everyone is a bit different, and that many other pupils had lost parents because of the war.
She sighed again and blew her fringe away from her eyes before shutting the book with a dull thud. There was no point in attempting to read anymore, not when she couldn't concentrate. Her mind was too busy. She hated it when it was like this. Only because it seems to make you even more odd. I'm not odd. Yes you are, no point denying it. I'm not odd! You're having an arguement with yourself...
Kim grimaced slightly, she was doing it again. Sometimes it could go on for hours, just talking to herself. Her mind was always so busy... "Stupid brain." She mumbled, leaning her head back on the wall to look up at the ceiling.

Melissa slammed the book closed and sighed, running her fingers through her now long hair. Ever since she discovered that certain spell to make her hair long and short. She couldn't stop messing with her hair. It was now something she would do when she was bored, annoyed or frustrated. She had been in the Ravenclaw common room finishing almost all of her assignments when she noticed that there was a book she need and of course she didn't have it.
Sure she still had Sunday to finish this since it was only Friday, but knowing Melissa. She hated procrastinating. She knew she had to finish it or else she would put it in the back of her mind and things that she put off or just forgot to do would always be forgotten. She grabbed all her books and other school supplies and placed them in her bag. There was no way she was going to carry all her heavy things all the way down to the library. She rushed to her room and set her bag on her bed. She knew what book she was going to get so it wouldn't take her that long to get it.
She made her way down stairs, sliding on the occasionally banister as she made her way to the library. On certain occasions she would almost have to sneak into the library. Some how she had managed to get banned from the library for a couple of weeks. She smiled at Madam Pince as she eyed her watchfully. She made her way to a book shelf and began her search of the book she needed.
