I figure I'll just give an overview as I don't recall what I've told people. Please keep in mind that some things have to change / be simplified when moving from an anything-goes-HP-rp-site to a real-world-light-fantasy-book, but if anything I say just DOES NOT work for you, please don't hesitate to say so and we can work it out.
And please ask questions if you have them.

Riley

Peter is now Peter Lehman, a good-natured cousin of Heightington's and prominent member of the anti-Caucemar group, the Hope. He owns, runs, and lives above an ice cream parlor; has a history with Shell; and is dating Trisha Patricks. He's quick to anger but likes to be fair, can be very hyper, and I've pretty much lost track of where your character left off and mine began. He's inspired by and looks like the site's Peter Pettigrew, but he may be a wholly different person at this point, so please let me know if you want to see his scenes or anything... I dunno.

Maddie

Kevin in the book is a former bully magnet who eventually got fed up and joined the Chosi, while pretending to be part of the Hope. He also convinced then-girlfriend Maddie to do the same by telling her they could be spies working for the Hope. Nowadays he is one of Heightington's favorites, though most of the good guys still think he's one of them, and also he has a personal vendetta against Maddie for cheating on him.
Heightington
- introduced early; mentioned often; never seen?
- role - shadow figure villain / puppetmaster

Jerami was an abused teenage psychopath who befriended Shelby Crescent after she was caught killing people as a child. Though she of course hadn't wanted to be a killer, Jerami was intrigued by the idea and decided to make himself an army of minions - kids like himself that he could train to kill (because killing makes you powerful, magically) and then pick off one by one and keep all of the power himself. Thus were the Caucemar born.
He also is the father of two of Shelby's children, killed her first husband out of spite, and hates for any of his minions to turn their backs on him. He keeps tabs on all of them, and if any stop killing/torturing, he makes sure they're paid a visit and forced back into the game.
Now, I kind of like the thought of keeping Heightington elusive and never actually seeing him (Kevin would kind of be his mouthpiece, for instance) but if that doesn't work for you please let me know.
Kyra
- introduced mid-book-1;
- role - symbol of hope/change for Fitzy

So... my idea of Kyra - and I don't know if I've mentioned this before - is that she was abandoned as a baby and adopted by a non-Gifted couple (the Jarvises). So when she started reading minds, they couldn't help her understand and she went a little crazy, unable to separate her own thoughts from other people's. So, say she's in class hearing God I hate Allen; I'd like to punch his face. Allen is a really good kisser. Sara's so nice. Sara is a bitch. I wish my dad would stop hitting me. Boy, baseball is fun. ... etc. she can't tell it's other people's thoughts. So she gets very confused.
Anyway, so she winds up joining the Chosi after killing a would-be rapist with magic (Heightington sees this and is very impressed) but she's still a little crazy and confused. And then she meets Fitzy and... beyond that, I don't know. There is a possible plan I need to message you and Megan about, but first please let me know if I need to scrap Kyra's backstory or not; perfectly okay if I do.
Isabella
- introduced early book 3?

Aaaand book 3's so far off I haven't given much more thought to her, plus I can't find Becca so I might have to scrap her entirely, so... yeah.
