Some leaves crunched lightly on the ground as Riley ran over the covered, now slightly dull, grass. He was taking his morning jog through campus- something he told him that he was going to do more frequently as of late. He seemed to let his daily routine slip during the summer and it was definitely not something easily put back on track for him. He loved running but he also loved being warm and cozy in his bed all morning.
It wasn't too cold outside, but it wasn't what Riley would call warm either- it was, in Riley's opinion, that perfect temperature that told you it was fall. The air was crisp and for the first time in a while he felt like he could actually breathe- which he had to say made running a lot easier.
About thirty-five minutes and three miles later he slowed down and eventually came to a stop- taking a drink from his water bottle once he took a moment to catch his breath. Since he was enjoying the weather, instead of heading back inside, he walked over to a nearby tree that still had most of its leaves on it and sat down at its trunk. He had nothing else better to do other than homework and he felt like he needed a break from that for at least a few hours.
