- - The light breeze brushed against her face, a small strand of hair fell over her eyes. The rough surface of the ground beneath her made her legs feel slightly out of balance. Moving them from a straight position as they were giving her some pain. She moved them into a crossing position. Her hands which were lent on behind her back were now placed onto her knees. Her chin placed to the center of her palm. A small sigh passed her lips which made her shoulders lift up ever so slightly. Her eyes traced back and forworth as she watched the stars. She had no idea what time it was at the moment, there was really no bother to find out. She could never sleep at night. She'd always have too many thoughts on her mind, making her paranoid. Kyra's head suddenly tilted to one side, as she saw a certain pattern in the sky from what she remembered a while a go. Trying to figure out when it was. Her mind went blank. # "Mummy. What are they called?"The little blonde blue eyed daughter asked. Little taps to the floor before feeling her small hands on her back. Kyra had been sitting out on her porch for a while. Just daydreaming, she had been left with her child. Since she had no idea who the father was. And to be honest, she didn't really want to find out either. It would make it more difficult for her. "They are called stars, sweetie. And if you look really closely you can make out little shapes with them."As she moved her hand up to the air, she pointed her finger out. And begin to trace out a shape. Ella sat down on her lap as she looked up at the sky and followed her mother's hand. She was like her mother alot, fascinated by the sky. Kyra knew she was going to be like her. Sit out all night probably. A few seconds later, there was a gun shot and glass shattered. A scream. # Snapping out of her back flash, of course it had to be with her daughter. Of course it had to be the day she lost her daughter. Her only one she thought she was actually going to keep. Feeling herself tear up, she stopped herself and begin to dig her fingers into the ground. Making dents into the concrete. She couldn't think about it again. It was too heartbreaking.[/ul]

"as days go by, the memories remain" How he longed to be young again. He was twenty eight, the years seeming to slip by with careless ease, each one going faster than the last. Time never seemed to be an issue for him, but as he grew older he noticed how much of it was being wasted. The days, months, years, all of them slipping away and growing shorter and shorter by the minute.
Hogwarts. It brought back some of the happiest memories of his lifetime. And it was exactly the reason why he had decided to come here. During the day, he had walked around the grounds, visiting each place he had known and come to love so dearly in his youth. Now it was night. The stars gleamed over the vast sky, and yet he was still walking around. His feet climbed the stairs to the astronomy tower. It was so odd how they already knew the way here.
There had been a time when he came up here very often. He was eighteen, in his last year at Hogwarts, and madly in love with a girl named Shelby. A faint smile appeared on his face as she came into his mind. Unfortunately, it slowly dissolved with the thought of everything that had recently been going on.
The ministry took him. The ministry told Shelby he was dead. She dated other people. Draven had come back to find all of this out. Shelby thought Draven had thought she was second best. And a number of other messes he had walked into. One of the most prominant being that Rubalyn had decided to pop back in to mess with Shell and Drave's lives, and had dragged Draven's younger brother Keegan into it. Just thinking about all of this was starting to give him a headache. Immediately he shook the thoughts from his head and continued his ascent to the top of the tower.
Pushing open the door, the glorious night sky spilled onto him. A soft breeze blew past him, moving his still-young-looking-hair every which way. The air felt good in his face. It was helping him to clear his mind. While he was here, he didn't want to think about such things. Everything was so damn complicated anymore.
This was half the reason why he wished he could be ten years younger. Most everything was so...simple back in his seventh year. Things made sense back then. [/blockquote]

Tilting her head back to one side once again, she couldn't help but notice something different in the air. At this moment in time, she couldn't quite work out what it was. Seeing as she had just snapped herself out from a flash. Which she did tend to lately, always had to be the horrible ones. The ones she didn't entirely want to remember. But they seemed to haunt her, like every other past memory did. She couldn't believe how much she could remember from her past lives. And she had many of lives in the past. However, back to the point. Kyra's nose made a small movement, making little lines on her forehead. Lifting one hand up softly, she rubbed it. Trying to get the scent away, it felt like it was teasing her. She knew she wouldn't be able to get it off of her mind. All she knew was that someone or something else had reached the Tower also. Listening carefully, she pulled her strands of behind her ear. Leaning backwards slightly. As she was sitting outside, around the corner from the door. Whatever it was wouldn't be able to see her for a while until they moved around a bit. After a few moments, the scent had gotten stronger, her nose twitched again. And so did her ears this time, hearing the light footsteps from the person. It was too light to be anything else. Trying to work out more from the way they moved; the door finally opened. Shutting her mouth, there was no heavy breathing to be heard. All you could hear now was the soft breeze. Turning her head round slightly, over her shoulder somewhat. Her vision caught up around the wall. Her eyes went wide. She couldn't believe it. It was her past love. The one she knew she could never forget. The one who got taken away by one of her friends. Her head instantly dropped. Biting her lip softly, was he still with her? "Draven.."Sighing softly under her breath. How did she miss saying his name.[/ul]

"as days go by, the memories remain"
His hair continued to blow through the breezy air. Pale moonlight shimmered down on him as he made his way through the narrow walkway lining the tower. Funny how he knew every little twist and turn on the walkway, though he hadn't visited here in years. Drave used to come here all the time; that was when Shelby still worked here, and before he was married to her. The pair of them often came up here to star-gaze. That was when she had been the Astronomy teacher and all.
A small sigh rippled through him, thinking about Shelby again. He didn't know what he was going to do about her, about them, their situation. Things were so torn up and fresh in his mind, like wounds that hadn't healed. As lovely as it would be to just shut all the thoughts out of his mind, he simply couldn't. And as much as he hated to admit it, half of his reason for being out here so late was to think about all of it. What was he going to do? He couldn't just sit back anymore, letting her continue to cheat on him. Draven could only lie to himself for so long.
A quick flash of something flickered off to his left, capturing his attention back into reality. All the little quirks of this place were forgotten to him. Meaning that he definitely wasn't expecting anybody to be out here this late at night. It was a stupid assumption, since he used to randomly wander around the castle at this time when he was in school. Obviously it had to have been one of the rebellious students around here, sneaking out this late to sit out on the tower.
On any other day, he really wouldn't have paid much attention to it. But he heard a soft sigh coming in the same direction, too. Another unfortunate thing about this place was that a lot of students came here when they were depressed. Heights and depression were just not a good mix. Drave recalled people coming up here to, well, die, when he was a student here. A small shudder ran through him at the thought of it.
Rounding the corner, walking in the direction of the noise, his footfalls came close to the person. A faint figure came into his view; it was dark and he couldn't see very well. Just a few more steps later, and he was closing the gap between the two of them. Instantaneously, his eyes grew wide, his heart beat dramatically sped up. "Kyra...?" The word came out a whisper, and he wasn't even aware that he had said it.
Kyra, his past love. Kyra, the girl who had just up and left him without another word. Kyra, the girl he had made the desperate attempt to forget about, so he could love Shell. The girl he hadn't seen in ten years...was sitting right before his very eyes. [/blockquote]

Biting into her lower lip even harder as she felt the footsteps get closer and closer. The vibrations on the floor made her legs tingle, her stomach suddenly turned into knots. Clenching her body part with her free hand, lifting her chin off of her palm and rested it to the ground. Placing one knee up and one leg straight out; and began to rock back and forworth. She couldn't help but feel sick, feeling all of her emotions flood back to her mind. All of their memories together, the first time they met, was the best day of her life. But that was ten years ago, that was when she was in love with someone and made the biggest mistake of leaving him just for her pathetic life being too much of a handful for her. Shaking her head softly, she still couldn't believe that she was so stupid back then. She lost the best thing that had ever happened to her. She had no idea she would run into him again, last time she remembered was when she found out that he was married to Shelby and had a kid with her. He seemed so happy. And that crushed her. She has never loved since. She doesn't know how to anymore, he was the one for her. Letting another puff of air leave her lungs as she felt a small breeze wind up from beneath her. A crispy old leaf swirling around in the air caught her eye, trying to think of anything to get the idea of Draven being there. But it didn't work as soon as she heard him speak. His voice was so quiet. His voice was so distinctive. She loved it. Turning her head round slightly, so he could see her face slightly. She realised that he hadn't changed one bit from ten years ago. The same facial structure. The same figure. Everything still being perfect about him. She gave him a small shy smile, seeing as she didn't know what reaction to give right now. Seeing his wide eyed face, made it seem like he was shocked as much as she was. "Hey you.."[/ul]

"as days go by, the memories remain"
Ten years. It had been ten years, since phone calls or conversation or any type of communication at all. Ever since Kyra just...left, he hadn't made any attempt to even get into contact with her. That was probably for the best though. He had loved her, quite a lot actually, and when Shelby came into the picture, he thought it best to not initiate any further connections between the two. It had taken him a lot to get over here, and didn't want to wreck things with Shelby.
So as he continued staring at her, it felt like some kind of dream he had entered into. There was no possible way Kyra Moonlight could sitting before him, plain as day. But then she spoke, and the words hit his eardrums. And it was like he was seeing everything with perfect clarity. A mixture of emotion rushed through him. Fear and excitement, happiness and anxiousness. A sincere smile broke out on his face. It wasn't any type of question, he was happy to see her. Even after all the years of not seeing her.
"Hey," Draven began, immediately taking a seat next to her on the ground, "My god, it's so great to see you again." The words were filled with joy and truth. He didn't know whether to hug her or not; he wasn't sure if it would be appropriate. Despite the fact that he was glad to see her, a pang hit his heart. The pang startled him just a little bit, only because he wasn't expecting to feel it.
Shelby had somehow managed to make that pang go away throughout their relationship. But now, they were having problems with each other, and he had the strong feeling that Shelby didn't feel the same about him as she used to. It was all very complicated. So when that pang in his heart for Kyra came back, he was sort of thrown off. Of course, the thought about it didn't show through to his exterior. Drave wasn't going to let it bother him at the moment, and keep the thought that he had lost Kyra out of his mind.
Draven looked up into her face, noticing that she was crying. "So tell me," He began, a soft laugh passing through his lips. Lifting up a hand, he brushed away a tear that was running down her face with the pad of his thumb, "What's making you feel so awful this time?" He wasn't stupid. It was plain as day to see that she had been upset prior to his arrival. Even if ten years did change things between two people, he could still very well tell when something was wrong. [/blockquote]

Not really knowing what to do herself, or even know how to feel. She couldn't but feel so happy to see him again, just the idea of looking into his gorgeous eyes again made her heart stop a small beat. How much she did love him, she could never describe it. The days that they weren't together, she was heartbroken, she felt like nothing without him. Kyra had no clue what was happening in her life at the moment, it was all confusing. She knew that Riley wasn't really in the best place to be to settle down. Yes, she liked him alot. But not enough to know where it was going, it made her think. Mostly about how most of her relationships never seemed to work, it always ended up her walking away; to return to something new. Her gaze fell to the ground as the boy talked again, his voice was just breathtaking to her. She didn't really know what to say to him, but she guessed, the best thing to do was act normal. Like she would ten years ago. Like she did when she was happy. Feeling a slight difference to the weight on the ground, she looked up, to see the blue eyed beauty sitting next to her, she couldn't help but smile somewhat more. Just his scent made her go slightly crazy, it was so tense. Feeling the breath on her cheek as he talked, the soft touch of his finger. Closing her eyes softly, she missed the feeling of him. She couldn't believe it still, she was right next to her past life. He was the one that made it. "It's great to see you too. Looking perfect as ever I see."Glancing a small grin at him, the corner of her lips stayed like that for a minute before she looked back at the sky. She knew she was going to stare at the boy too much, and she didn't want to freak him out or anything. She didn't want him to leave her. Not again. She couldn't deal with it again. Shaking her head ever so softly, she forgot how much he knew her by now. When she was upset or something, he would know straight away even if she wasn't shredding a tear. "You know me too well.. It's just a trip down memory lane. Needed to think about things and such.. Not so good now I think about it."A small giggle left her lips, making a few strands of hair fall down her face. Her chest rose up and down slightly. Kyra moved her hand from her stomach as it was starting to lighten up slightly and then placed it on top of her knee, which stuck up infront of her.[/ul]

"as days go by, the memories remain"
Tons of things started flashing through his mind. Drave didn't even know what to do, or how this meeting between the two of them would go. Things were pretty messed up in his life as of right now. Stuff with his half brother, his run-in with Rubalyn, and the fact that Shelby continued to cheat on him. Draven had always been one of those level-headed kind of guys. And as much as he hated to admit it, he didn't like confrontation. He was normally just one of those guys who sat back and took whatever was rolling his way. Yes, he loved Shelby, but he was tired of her walking around on him.
Kyra was excellent at hiding her true feelings. Draven had caught on quick to this after only being with her for a few months. So he wasn't exactly sure how she was really feeling. Either way, she seemed just about as nervous as he did, which was fairly obvious and sort of expected. Every word she spoke made their meeting more real to him, though. God how he had missed the sound of her voice. Another laugh passed his lips, his smile staying perfectly intact on his face. "And you as well, my dear." This time he leaned over and gave her a hug, forgetting whether it would be appropriate or not.
Merely nodding as if he understood, he reached out and tucked back the few stray strands of hair framing her face. Draven knew Kyra had been through a lot of shit during her lifetime. A lot of it had plagued her back when they were both at Hogwarts for school.
This time, though, it felt like something he really didn't know about. That of course, wasn't surprising. Tons of stuff must have gone on in her life during the past ten years. Draven could certainly vouch that point for himself. Hell, he had found out he had a half brother, and had been taken by the Ministry. "Ah," He began, "Anything you want to talk about?" After all, she had looked pretty shaken up about it. And the two of them knew that he was always up for lending a keen ear.
Despite the fact that they hadn't seen each other in ten years, Draven could clearly still feel the chemistry between them. It was like it hadn't gone away after all these years. [/blockquote]

Being in the position she was in right now, she didn't really know what Draven had been going through. From what she could do, she couldn't quite read him properly, she would always get too distracted by him. So at anytime she felt like she needed to know something, it would never work. She didn't actually mind that, being as it may, she quite liked the idea of not being able to scan his thoughts. Liking the privacy somewhat made her want to be with him more, to let things to be told naturally. But however with the look in his eyes, she could tell it was something to do with Shell. The way he used to look at her, and now there seemed to be nothing left behind his eyes. Maybe he was finally getting annoyed of her fucked up life? Kyra always being annoyed by that girl, how she could think she wouldn't hurt peoples feelings by fuckin' everyone around her. Even after when she said she would never cheat again. She never really understood that girl, even when she was head over heals for Shell at the beginning of the year. But she soon found out what she was really like. It wasn't something good to know, but otherwise it was best to not get stuck with it. After a moment or two of staring at the sky she felt the boys arms move around her, her heart literally stopped for a few minutes before she realised she needed to snap out of it. She couldn't believe how much of a reaction she got from him touching her, it took her moment to click, before wrapping her right around his front. Feeling her hair moving, she noticed that Draven had pushed the strands of that was forming around her face away. A small tint of pink rushed to her cheeks. The feeling of him touching her was making her mental right now, rather quite dizzy to be quite frank. But for now, she knew she needed to act normal. He couldn't be acting like she was, could he? Trying not to think about that for a moment, she needed to remember what she was getting upset about. For now, she tried to breathe properly. Placing her head softly onto his shoulder. ".. Hm, just the usual drama. Wanting to kill myself but I can't. People breaking my heart. Killing more people. I don't know how to deal with life anymore. It's too much. I just want to settle down and stay there. Let there be no more trouble. Just let it be.. Alright."Another sigh left her lips after she finished. There was no good way to explain it, she just hoped it would understand what she meant.[/ul]

"as days go by, the memories remain"
It felt amazing to be holding her in his arms again. Weird emotions were flowing through his body, things he hadn't felt since his seventh-year-Hogwarts-days. He missed her, a lot. Plain and simple. God he had missed her more than he thought he would have. Years ago, he promised himself to not look back on the past, to only think about the present and future. What was past was past, right? Well, their meeting right now was definitely changing his whole perspective of thinking. There wasn't anything bad about the past at all.
Her reactions were breathtaking. Apparently there was still chemistry between the two of them. His assumptions hadn't been wrong about that. Call him crazy, but he was almost certainly catching old vibes off Kyra too. She must've known how Draven was feeling right now. If he could recall, she had some type of emotion-reading thing, or mind-reading. It was one of the two. Either way, she probably knew all these crazy feelings were going through him right now.
Immediately, a frown replaced the smile he wore. Her words weren't comforting to him at all. It seemed like her life hadn't gotten better since she had been at school here. He completely understood what she meant, though. There wasn't a need to explain it all out into great detail. Nodding at her, he tucked his arm protectively around her shoulder. "Things just aren't looking up for anybody." He admitted, partly taking himself into account through that statement. His hand moved up and stroked her hair, since her head was laying on his shoulders.
Funny how such simple gestures brought back a flood of memories to his mind. Mostly, it felt like they were back in their seventh year again.
Biting his lip, he really didn't know what more he could say to her. He didn't know her problems, and wasn't going to pry into them. And he didn't know if she would even want to hear his. Most of them had to do with Shelby, and his guess was that Kyra would feel way more than uncomfortable talking to him about his wife...or his ex-wife. He didn't even know if they were still married anymore. Being the idiot push-over that he was, he didn't think to ask. [/blockquote]

Catching a small thought in the back of his mind as she tried to concentrate for a moment, she needed to know how he was feeling. Yes, she got a slight hint at how he seemed to be acting the way she was. But probably not as much as her, well, that's what she thought. The faintness of his thoughts made her somewhat raise an eyebrow slightly as she looked away, so he couldn't see what she was doing. A small smile returned to her lips, apparently he did feel the same. The emotions and memories flooding back. The chemistry still between them, she couldn't quite take it in. But it made her quite happy to know he was feeling the same. But then it got her thinking, she looked back to him. To see what he would respond with to what she had just spoken about, seeing the frown on his face made her know that he still cared and how he was protective over her. However, was he like that with Shell as well? She needed to know if they were still together or not. If she doesn't find out, she for well knows it would not be best to try something. It would it be at all, with the past they had. She had to admit on the other head. She was still in love with him. She could never stop thinking about it. It made her go crazy. Feeling his grip change, his arm move around her shoulder instead. She shuffled slightly, getting into a more comfortable position before feeling his hand reach up and stroke her hair. This made her lips turn up instantly. Closing her eyes for a moment, she wanted to take it in. She didn't want it to go away, she was just so glad that she wasn't dreaming this time. "How are things with you then?.."Kyra's voice quietened at the end, beginning to think of all of the possibilities again. She didn't want to hear them, but she knew she would have to find out, sooner rather than later. Moving her arm slightly from where it was to hugging him to now just placing on his arm, she gently stroked his piece of clothing back and forworth with her thumb. A small sigh released from her lips again, it was a happy sigh in some way. In others it wasn't.[/ul]

"as days go by, the memories remain"
The one very prominent state in his mind was wonder. He wondered a ton of things at this point. Where had she been? What was her life like now? How was she feeling about their meeting after ten years? All of these questions could have gone on for over an infinity of time. He had to pace himself to even think of them all. Better yet, the most important question of all: Did she know anything about him at all? Where he had been? What he was feeling right now? Inevitably, it was strange that one meeting after ten years could bring all these memories and feelings flooding back into his mind. In a way, it was almost scary, but not to the point where it bothered him.
For a moment, he began to wonder how the hell he would even begin to explain the contents of the last ten years to her. Frankly, he didn't even want to get into it. Of course, if she asked, he wasn't going to divulge any information. They were friends, even though the pair of them hadn't spoken in over a decade. And friends were able to share things with each other, no matter how painful for either of them, right? Once more, he shook thoughts from his head. It was evident there was just too much going on in his mind at the moment. Things were swirling together in a frantic sort of haze. From that point on, he stopped all the incessant thinking and wondering and tried to relax himself. He was here with someone he hadn't seen in a very long time, and wasn't going to let his craziness ruin it for him.
Yet again, he was struck by memories past. Sitting here, holding her like he was, made him feel strange, as if he was experiencing deja vu. The feeling was nice though, like home, like something familiar and comforting. Draven slightly wished he could hug her closer, but didn't exactly know if that was a smart thing to do yet. He really didn't want to freak her out by how much he had missed her.
"Awful." He admittedly sighed, "I wouldn't know where to even begin."
Drave could feel her playing with a piece of his clothing between her fingers. It was such intricate and intimate contact it nearly made him miss her all the more. 'The hell with it.' Draven thought to himself and gave her a small squeeze around the waist. He wished there was something he could do to make her feel better. [/blockquote]

.. "bite your lip, pull me in."
Feeling a small breeze past them, the scent of his hair ran under her nose. Taking it in, she exhaled with another small sigh as she began to think about how to tell him. She remembered trying to tell him before, after their very nice time in detention. Where she didn't get with another guy after that day, she liked him too much. "..Draven. I need to tell you something. But I just don't know how.."You could tell from her tone in voice that she was nervous, that she was beginning to get a tight knot in the back of her throat. Her breathing changing, her heartbeat changing. This was all too much for her.[/ul]

"as days go by, the memories remain" Being with Kyra always reminded him of better times, of better days. Days where he wasn't an emotional wreck and hating himself and a million of other depressing things. And that's when he realized it: being with Shelby made him depressed. He loved her, yes, but being with her and putting up with the insufferable amount of crap she constantly put him through was pretty much self-destructive. But as of right now, when he was sitting here with Kyra, it was like he had not a care in the world. It was like sunshine and rainbows and all the other seventies-era metaphors for happiness. Maybe what he was feeling right now was truth, maybe he truly didn't ever stop having feelings for her. Drave guessed he sort of just let them die down when she disappeared. And being with her right now was definitely dredging up old feelings. Plus, he wasn't exactly in a good place with Shelby right now anyway. He wasn't feeling any guilt or repercussions for letting his old chemistry come out.
"It's not good." Draven replied flatly; there wasn't any reason to sugarcoat it anymore. He felt like he could tell her anything, like anything she asked him he could honestly answer. In fact, he half-wished she would press a little further into his life for the past ten years. Surely she'd listen, and probably understand how he felt about Shell right now. Kyra had endured her own brand of lies and deceit that she would know it's melody as good as Draven would have.
But regardless, if she didn't want to ask, she didn't have to. He wasn't going to push his personal life on her if she didn't want to know about it. It was an incredibly long story anyway. Drave would probably end up boring her to death.
A smile crept up on his face that he couldn't help. He liked to hear her say that she was staying. "Well good, I'm glad to hear that hun." Drave beamed at her, his fingers absent-mindedly stroking her forearm. Nothing felt awkward anymore, so he gave her waist another small squeeze of affection. "I've missed you a lot." Draven managed to confess.
The next moment, he could feel her becoming tense and anxious, fidgety. Turning to her, he reached his other hand up and brushed some hair away from her face, letting his thumb brush lightly up against her cheeks. "Relax." Draven breathed into her face, "You can tell me whatever it is you need to tell me. There's no rush." He let his smile continue to linger as he spoke.

.. "bite your lip, pull me in."
And that was the moment, that was the moment she knew she had to tell him. Her eyes still stayed glued to him, she couldn't take them off of him. At that point, she didn't know whether to just tell him bluntly, or.. not? After Draven telling her to relax, she knew that she could tell him everything. But to her it just seemed so quickly after ten years of not seeing each other but in the end, she told herself to get over it. ".. I'm still in love with you. I've never been able to get over you. You mean the world to me.."As soon as those words fell out of her mouth. Her eyes dropped, this time not caring as she let out a small sigh.[/ul]
