I shrugged a little bit. "I was out running a few errands and I got really tired, so sat down on a bench.. then it started to rain, so I came in here." I answered, looking over to her, unsure if I was comfortable or not yet. "What about you?"

"Makes sense...." I shrug slightly. "Just wandering, like usual."

I nodded slightly, "Don't you ever get sick of just wandering around?" I asked slightly curious.

"Well, not yet," I shrug. "And it's better than the alternative."

I paused for a moment. ".. What's the alternative then?" After asking this, I felt like I should have known, but funnily enough, I wasn't sure.

I half-laugh, shaking my head. "Sitting at home being sad. Though, actually, other than when I speak to someone, I guess that the wandering isn't much better."

I smiled faintly and slightly sympathetically. "Maybe wandering's better than sitting at home sad." I commented to her. "I think I've probably ruined your wandering though." I added with a faint chuckle.

"No, definitely not," I shake my head. "You're a distraction, anyway, if nothing else. No offense."

I gave a faint half smile in her general direction and shrugged a little bit. "None taken.. I don't mind being a distraction."

"All right then." I smile faintly back. "Good, because I appreciate it."

I smiled faintly more and nodded a little bit. "Anytime." Weird how that turned out. I didn't like being used, I don't think there's anyone who does. But being a distraction just seemed different. Sort of more like I was needed. Which I liked.

I smile faintly again. "Same goes for you, you know."

"Thanks," I smiled, even though what I was really thinking was that, if anything, I was the one who needed distracting from her. "I'll keep that in mind."

I smile faintly, then drop my eyes to the floor. Not for the first time I'm wondering if it might be better for both of us to be distracted from each other rather than using each other as distractions.

I looked down to the floor for a moment too. ".. Sorry about lately, though." I said after a moment, looking over to her. I couldn't remember if I'd already said this, but I really was sorry, so I thought I'd say it anyway. "Next time I do or say something.. just tell me to shut up."

"Would that work?" I ask, half-laughing doubtfully.

I laughed faintly, "I think it might, actually." I said with a faint nod. "'Specially after today.. If it doesn't work, just throw something at me, preferably something soft."
|
|

"If it's soft why would that do the trick?" I ask, half-joking. I really did kind of want to slap him the other day though.

"I just don't want you to kill me." I chuckled. "I don't care what you throw.. you can even hit me." I added shaking my head faintly. "Because believe me when I say I don't want to feel this way, and I don't want to keep bothering you."

"... Understandable," I nod after a moment. "Never kill you though."

I nodded faintly, giving a very faint smile at the second part. "I'd appreciate that."

I laugh slightly, shaking my head. "I'd hope you do... awfully big sacrifice on my part and all, not to kill you."

I laughed a little bit, "I can imagine."

I smile again faintly, but can't think of a response to that.

I sighed and looked around the bookstore, managing a glance out the window of the shop. ".. Stopped raining."

"Mm... that's good," I nod, following his gaze. "Going to continue on with running errands then?"

"Um.." I paused again for a short moment before nodding slightly, "Yeah, I think I will.. I'll let you wander.." I said with a faint smile.

"All right...." I nod, smiling faintly back. "See you later then."

I smiled a bit and nodded a bit, "Yeah, I'll see you." I said as I started to walk backwards slowly before turning around, letting out a small sigh.
