It had been such a long time. Months, actually, since she'd seen her best friend. The last time she'd seen her was at Logan's house, and since then she's changed alot. In a good way. Her black hair had been dyed to a light blonde. It looked good, too. Her icy blue eyes were brighter and her skin the slightest bit tanner.
She loved it.
Briar was gone with a loud crack from her house and it took her a moment to regain her balance. It had been a long time since she'd used Apparation. She fixed her black and white striped blouse and knocked on the door a couple of times before pushing her curly blonde hair behind her ear.
She started to hum to herself and roll back and forth on the heels of her feet, looking around the house. It was so homey, she loved it. A smile came to her lips as she looked around. Memories flowed through her head. Some good, some bad. She remembered coming over when the kids were still young, then to recent times in her 30s. It had been about 3 more seconds of waiting when she knocked on the door again, this time calling out, "Hello?! Anyone home!?"

"Sweetie, please just put on the dress." "I don't want to wear the yellow dress! I want to wear the red!" Shell sighs as she finishes pinning up some of her blonde curls into a nice bun as a few were still dangling down around her face, making a picture frame.
They were all going to a Quidditch meeting today, as no one could babysit for Shell. Instead she figured that she could bring Vi, Liese, Jake and James with her as Jenny watched them in the office once she got there. Why Jenny couldn't stay home and watch them was beyond her but if she could get someone to watch them somehow she guessed she would have to make due.
Jenny was sitting on the couch fixing James and Jake's hair nicely as she heard a familiar voice on the outside of the door. Getting up now, she walks over in her green off the shoulder sweater and a jean skirt to answer the door. She beams ear to ear as wide as she could. "Momma Bri!" she says so loud that Shell smiles to herself.
She hadn't seen her best friend in ages and she missed her terribly. Now rushing to the door now herself she glances past Jenny at a blonde woman that now resembled herself. It was almost looking at a mirror image. "Briar? Is that really you?"

Briar looked up when someone opened the door and a wide smile came to her lips when Jenny yelled out. She was glad that she could recognize her, with her looking so different now. "Hey, Jenny. Miss me?" She asked with a small laugh afterwards. She would say so, seeing as how she yelled out her name.
"Where's your-... Oh hey Shell," She said, her smile getting even wider. She looked them both over for a moment before saying, "Going somewhere?" Briar laughed lightly at the question Shelby had directed at her and nodded, her soft curls swaying slightly. "Yes, Shell. It's me. Way different, huh?" She ran a hand through her now blonde hair, still not believing she had done it herself.

Jenny rolls her eyes as she hugged Briar back, just more tight. "Oh no, of course not Mama Bri. I just like to hug random people that I don't miss at all." she sarcastically mumbles into her new blonde curls before pulling back and looking at Briar again with the same smile from before. "A lot has been going on... Mom's not very stable, but--"
"Wow. You're blonde. I thought you wouldn't ever do that to be honest." she says softly with a light smile as she twirled her fingers around themselves. It was true though, Shell had been losing it lately as she took a bet with love and as usual it took a wrong turn. It just seemed written in fate that she had to be single. "Oh, um. I decided to go back to playing for the Holyhead Harpies as we need the money... just a typical meeting for me about pay and everything. And since I don't have a formal babysitter, they all have to come." Shell says with a sigh but shrugs. "If you want you can come too." she adds quickly as Liese comes back down in the yellow dress that Shell told her to wear. It was clear she wasn't thrilled about it.

Briar let a soft smile come to her lips at the sarcasm and she flicked Jenny on the nose."Always so sarcastic," she said with a light laugh afterward. "What do you mean she's not stable?"
Briar smiled at her best friend, Shell, before wrapping her in a hug, "I didn't think I would either, to be honest. But I did, and it actually looks good!" She used to have pure, raven black hair, which she missed at times, but the blonde curls made her look like herself, so she decided to keep it. She looked at Shelby with a worried expression at what Jenny had said. WHen love doesn't work out for Shell, she usually tends to go a bit on the loopy side. She nodded when she said that she was going back to her old quidditch team and smiled, that was fun. Not to mention she got into the games for free. "Sure, I'll come. Someone had to actually let the kids have fun," She said, glancing over at Jenny with a wink before looking at Liese, "Awe, Liese you look cute. Smile."

"As in someone broke her heart and now she's going slowly into her Ruby state. Other than that she's absolutely fine." she says before backing off a little from Shell.
Shell stares at her slightly as she smiles at Briar. "It does, although it might make me attracted to you more. I always liked blondes you know." she says with a laugh. "Hey they have fun they go to the quidditch games in the special box..." she says slowly realizing that it didn't sound that fun anymore when she thought about it. It was fun for her to have the family there, rooting her on to block the goals but it couldn't be that much fun. "See even Auntie Briar thinks you're cute." Liese rolls her eyes as she walks over to the couch.

"Ah, more fun for me," Briar said sarcastically with a sigh and a roll of her eyes.
Briar let out a laugh and winked over at Shelby in a playful way. "Well, I can't blame you. Blondes are quite attractive." She watched as Shell thought about what she said and sighed. Ofcourse it was fun for the kids in the special box. You got to watch the best sport around, it was free, and they had her watching them so they always had a blast. "They always have fun, Shell," She assured her with a smile. Briar watched Liese for a moment before raising an eyebrow, "Hey Liese, if you keep rolling your eyes like that, they'll stick one day and you won't be able to see. AND! You'll look strange."

Shell smiles over to Briar before winking back at her. "You know it. Why else would I get you coming back for more all the time hun?" Shell teases as Jenny pretends to gag. "That's just... no. You two are my mums. If you ever kissed or anything that's just ew." she exclaims loudly causing the little ones to giggle as Shell looked over to Briar before winking again. They had a past, Jenny just didn't have to know about it.
"I'm sure. It couldn't be that much fun Briar if they're so reluctant to go right now. After the meeting there's a match versus Ireland." she says with a sigh. Liese frowns as she looks up at Shell. "Momma said that's not possible Briar." Shell couldn't help but frown. Liese was nine now and was getting an early start on her teenage rebellion.

Briar merely snickered at what Jenny said. They had a past, one she defiently would not forget. She finally walked into the living room and sat down beside Liese, smiling. Shell would know that smile, it meant she had something up her sleeve.
"Well, I'm here now, so I can make it fun," She said with a grin over to Shell. Briar rose her brow down at the nine year old rebel. She reminded her of Molly, she didn't want what happened to her happen to Shell. That's the worst feeling in the world, for your child to run out on you. "Oh really Liese? Then why is it at my old school in Scotland, there was this one boy with his eyes looking like they were stuck in a permanent eye roll?" She barely remembered anything from her old school, but what she did were fun memories. She moved away from there when she was only 14, so it was a definite that she wouldn't remember many things. Jenny stares at the two of them, taking fleeting glances between Shell and then Briar then back to her mum as her eyes widen slightly. "Oh god. Why? When did this happen? Wait, I don't want to know. Bad image! Go away!" she yells, grabbing her brown hair. Shell simply rolls her eyes at Jenny. Always a drama queen, like Briar and herself.
Shell just shakes her head as if it could never happen. The kids had been a bit more rebellious in general as Jenny, Zoe and now Ashlyn had left home. Jenny was at least of age when she left, Zoe gotten pregnant and Ashlyn well... she was with Nick now. Isaiah was disappearing more and more now lately as well. Liese looks over at Shell, frowning as Shell went through her thoughts of the other kids leaving as well.
"Nope. Not possible Briar. You can't trick me. I'm not five anymore." "Hey! What does that mean!" James pipes up looking over at Liese with a hurt expression as she just smirked at him. "It means that you're a baby James." Shell snaps out of her thoughts again before noticing that James was now crying. "What's wrong sweetie? No crying love... it's okay." she says in an exhausted voice. It was obvious that work and all the kids were getting to her.

Briar laughed loudly for a minute beforel looking up at Jenny from where she was sitting, "It was before you came into my life and I was still allowed to be a teenager!"
Briar leaned back with a smirk on her lips, she would get Liese to believe her. She was, afterall, a good actress when she wanted to be. How do you think she got out of those troublesome situations when she was just a kid? "I'm not trying to trick you Liese, it's true. The dude hit on me once, it was one of the scariest experiences I'd ever had as a thirteen year old!" She shuddered a bit for good measure and then thumped the nine year old on the head for making her little brother cry. "Hey James, you know what being five years old means though? You can get away with alot more, get more stuff and candy, not to mention you can get your older siblings to beat up someone that's bullying you!" She said to the young boy to try and get him to lighten up. "Besides, I like you more than the nine year old anyway. You're cooler." She knew that Liese knew what cool meant, accoriding to stereotyping at such a young age these days.

Jenny covers her ears and sings la la la as loud as she could, causing Shell to smile, that was until Briar thumped Liese on the head. "Briar. Don't instigate them to hate each other or you may leave." Jenny glances over at Briar and then to Shell as she walks over to her. "Mum, it's okay she didn't hurt Liese or James... it's fine. Okay everyone upstairs. Let's go." Shell watches all of them go upstairs, but she stops Liese inspecting her head for anything out of the ordinary and smiles once there was nothing there as well as James.
"Briar, I don't want you to teach the children lessons by making fun of one for the other. It's not fair or right to them." Shell crosses her arms over her chest and stands in a protective stance. Shell had definitely left the building as of now. Jenny was right, she had gone loopy again.

Briar smiled over at Jenny, who was singing lalala at the top of her lungs. She loved making that girl uncomfortable. She glanced over at Jenny with an exasperated expression before looking up at Shell with a raised eyebrow. It was official, she had lost it. She don't know what caused it this time, but she wasn't about to take a trip to loopyville anytime soon. She just got out of that. "Shell, you're overreacting. I didn't say anything of the sort," She said coolly, crossing her arms over her own chest.

Shell looks at her before shaking her head. "I'm not overreacting. I don't appreciate you teasing Liese in an effort to make James feel better." she says firmly and a bit too bitter for a regular Shell tone. Jenny comes back downstairs and stands between the two of them. "Alright, give it up Rubalyn they're gone."

Briar rose her eyebrows up in slight surprise. Teasing? Seriously? This couldn't be Shelby. She'd never been one for teasing, she may seem like the type to give it, but she used to be the one to recieve it. She crossed her arms and leaned back, a smirk on her full lips. Jenny's statement only gave her evidence that her thoughts were true. "Welcome back ,Rubalyn."

"Thanks love, and Ruby what did I say about that? I told you to call me Mum. Afterall, Shelby wasn't present when you were born, I was." she says with a faint smirk as Jenny returns it. "Oh yes I know. That's why I'm such a rebel and a bitch sometimes. I got those characteristics from you Rubalyn." Ruby glares at her slightly as she averts her attention back to Briar. "About time you dyed your hair the color that it deserves. I knew for a while you were a blonde."

Briar rolled her eyes at the woman infront of her. Rubalyn was such a bitch, she couldn't stand it. She thought something was strange, and she was right. Rubalyn has come back. It made her want to vomit. She looked over at Jenny with a smirk at her retort to Rubalyn then looked at Rubalyn with a raised eyebrow. She calmly rose her her infamous middle finger with an innocent smile towards her.

Rubalyn just laughs at the both of them, shaking her head lightly. "You two are two peas in a pod you know that? But Briar..." she says softly tilting her head this time though to her right shoulder. "You really shouldn't make offers like that love. You never know if someone will accept them, like me." she adds with a smirk still before slowly walking over to Briar, causing Jenny's eyes to widen greatly.

Briar's eyes widened greatly at Rubalyn and she jumped up from the couch and hid behind Jenny, "Back off, bitch," She said, narrowing her icy blue eyes at the girl infront of Jenny and herself.

Rubalyn laughs at the two of them once more before nudging Jenny out of the way, but in retaliation she bumps her back, unfortunately both Briar and Rubalyn onto the couch with Rubalyn on top. "Thanks love, I knew you were on my side." Jenny turns around and gasps, instantly trying to get Ruby off but received a glare. "Briar I'm sorry! Get off of her!" "So how about that kiss love?" Briar looked up at Rubalyn with an evil glare, something she hadn't been able to muster up since the family got into a fight. She started using all the strength she could to try and push the woman off. It didn't work. She really needed to work out more. "Get the fuck off of me, Crescent," She growled out, pushing at her even harder.

Briar smirked slightly, trying to think of something. She looked up at Jenny for a moment before an idea popped in her mind. She cut her eyes to a vase and then back to Jenny, hoping she'd get the message. "Fuck you. I don't have to threaten you. And I'm not weak! Just... out of shape.."

Jenny nods lightly before walking over and going to grab the vase. Although, Ruby looked up and glared at her daughter. "Don't you dare." Jenny sighs and looks desperately at Briar almost as a way to say sorry. "Out of shape, weak same thing." she says before kissing her cheek lightly
