She had come by here so many times before. But she really didn't realize how hard it would be to actually be going there on her own. How could something so stupid like leaving turn this whole argument with her mother go totally wrong. She wasn't expecting her mother to say those awful things to her and she didn't think everything that she had bottled up about her mother would come spilling out. Everything just went wrong, nothing had gone as how i had planned. She thought as a couple of tears began to fall.
She shoved the her hands into her pocket as she made her way towards Nick's apartment. She had nothing, her mother had taken everything away from her. Not that she needed it. She was going to work and pay for her own things. She wasn't just going to show up and be a burden to her father. Not after how she had treated him. I should give him a chance, after all he is my father...I should be happy to have one and not be so angry towards him. She told herself. As she finally reached the apartment complex and began to walk up the long narrow stairs that lead her to the floor her father's apartment was located. Wiping the tears that had were flowing she took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Hopefully he wouldn't reject her after how she treated him.

I wasn't doing much today. In fact, I hadn't really done anything at all today. I got up, grabbed the paper, made a pot of coffee and just sat down at the kitchen table. And actually, I was there. At the kitchen table. I'd leafed through the Daily Profet more than a couple times, not really paying attention to what I was looking at. I was just bored.. and sort of lonely actually. There really wasn't much to do when you were alone in your apartment.. and because of that, I was thinking about calling up one of the girls that I had seen a week or two back. Just for some company. I mean, who comes to visit me? And with that thought, there was a small knock on the door. Funny how that always seemed to happen. I looked over in it's direction for a moment, bewildered, before standing up and walking over to it, opening up the door to see Ashlyn standing infront of me, looking quite upset. I frowned slightly and walked closer to her, pulling her into a hug. I hated seeing my kids like this.. and I also wondered what.. or who.. made her like that. I pulled out of the hug and looked at her with some concern. "Are you okay?" I asked, right off the bat. Normally, I would say hello first, but I was a bit too taken off guard to really think about that right now.
[[ gah, this's horrible.. and really delayed, lol, sorry ]]

As soon as the door swung open she looked at her father. Tears streaming down her face as he pulled her into a hug. She was a bit surprised but hugged him back to her own surprise. How was she going to explain all this mess to him. She couldn't, she didn't even know where to start. He asked her is she was alright she nodded slightly before crying even more. Wiping her tears she looked up at him."I-I..left..."She simply said before she began crying again. [[lol don't worry about it sorry if its a bit short xD]]

I shook my head faintly, giving her a slightly confused look. She left? Did she mean she left home? She left school? She left... I don't know what else she could leave. But judging by how she was acting, my guess was that she left home. I wondered what happened... I nodded faintly before putting hand on the back of her shoulder gently motioning for her to come inside the apartment. "Come inside.." I said softly as I did this. "Want anything? Tea? Or cocoa?" [[ yay! and that's alright mine's short too ]]

{{ ;D yay!!}}
She nodded slightly when he told her to come inside. She moved rather slow, she was still surprised that she left. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand and shook her head. She didn't feel like eating of drinking at that moment."No, I'm fine. Thank you though."She told him as the tears had finally began to stop flowing. She looked at him. She probably had to really explain what "I left" meant. After all he wasn't a mind reader or something."I left home...I can't live with that crazy woman anymore."She told him. Her voice a bit shaky.

[[ ]] I nodded slightly at when she said she didn't want anything and I shut the door softly behind her once she was inside the apartment. She was silent for a moment and I continued to think about what could have happened. I thought that everything was perfectly fine over there.. but I guess I was wrong. Especially after hearing what she mentioned next. She did have a point to what she was saying, Shelby could be pretty crazy sometimes... So I couldn't much blame her.. I'm just happy that she came here instead of going who knows where else. "Do you wanna talk about what happened?" I asked a moment later, frowning slightly, as I hated seeing her like this.

She laughed weakly and nodded. But really what was there to talk about. She wasn't really certain what had come over her to just get up and leave the way she did. She was a bit surprised how quickly her mother's reaction had changed. For worried to hatred."Actually I've been planning to leave for quite sometime. I was going to stay a friends house. I had everything planned out, but she caught me."She told him in a quiet tone as she walked over to the couch and sat down. "No wonder you left...."She said with a laugh. "I don't blame you for leaving, you know."She said with a sad smile on her tear stained face.

I nodded slightly and followed her over to the couch, sitting down next to her as she explained. I guess I could imagine that happening to Shelby.. bi-polar, maybe? That could be part of it. I'm not sure. "She caught you leaving to go there? Or just caught you in general?" I slightly wondered why she didn't just go there.. I wasn't complaining, I was just curious. I smiled very faintly when she said no wonder I left. "Just as long as you know it wasn't because of you.. or your siblings." I said quietly with a faint nod. ".. It just wasn't working with us.."

She nodded."Dad, that's like the understatement of the century. It wasn't working with anyone she married or gone out with. That's why she's always going to be alone. And all her children are going to abandon her one by one. When they realize who she really is."She said a bit harshly. She had never talked about her mother to anyone this way before. She wasn't sure if it was because she was still angry from their fight.
"Ah, sorry...I should probably tell you from the beginning. After well, Jay. It seems like she hasn't been the same. I just hated seeing her get all excited about one relationship and be all depressed the next when it didn't work out. She probably doesn't know it, but it affects us as well. Seeing her torn. It's just something I got sick of seeing. After all she only cares about herself. I don't care what she says. Oh and she caught me packing. She thought I was packing for that stupid trip to Ireland. When I told her that I was leaving....she sort of freaked and kicked me out. That's why I'm here emptied handed."She said with a laugh.
"I know I have no right to ask but is it okay if I stay with you. It'll be for a couple of weeks. I don't want to be a burden. As soon as I get a job I'll get my own place."She smiled. As soon as she a job that would have to wait until after she left hogwarts. She would work while she wasn't in school and get a place in the leaky cauldron or something.

"That's a bit harsh, Ash.." I said after a moment, even though I would technically like to agree with her. Shelby did have her good moments though.. just like everyone had their bad moments. And I was sure that Shelby would be crawling back to Ashlyn and begging her to be coming home before Ashlyn knew it. But she was her mum.. and that had to count for something, right? I sighed and shook my head slightly, "I can go get your things if you want." I said first as I turned a bit more toward her. "Why would she kick you out if you were trying to leave?" I asked, shaking my head slightly. ".. I really don't understand her sometimes." I add quietly to myself with another sigh. "Ashlyn, you have every right to ask to stay here." I corrected her, shaking my head faintly. "You're no where near a burden and you can stay as long as you need to." I got out all in one sentance. "I'd much rather you be here anyway. Believe me." That really was true too. No way did I want her staying at the Leaky Cauldren.. or who knows where else. Always a bit dodgy to me.

She averted her gaze when he told her that her words were a bit harsh. Even if that were true she couldn't help but be angry. She shook her head when he asked if he could go get her things. After what her mother said she wasn't to sure she would want them anymore."OH, don't bother. I have more then enough clothes at school and I have some saved to buy some shirts and pants or something."She gave him a sincere smile. It was true every since her mother went back to play quiditch she had given all the children allowances. Ashlyn was smart enough to save her money. She was sure she was going to have to use it when something important could happen. Luckily for her she was right."I think she was mad for my trying to leave and rather then let me leave she preferred to throw me out."She shrugged slightly. She was actually happy for once since that entire day. She was relieved and a bit surprised that he actually would let her stay here with him. She couldn't thank him enough that she surprisingly hugged. It was weird for her at least. Since she wouldn't even want to touch him let alone give him a hug. When he would come over for his daily visit.

"True though." I commented with a small sigh and nod, when I noticed Ashlyn avert her eyes. I didn't want her to feel terribly bad about saying it or anything. She was allowed to, I mean, they just got in a fight and she left. And she came here. She could pretty much say or do whatever she wanted to right now and I wouldn't have a problem with it. I nodded slightly, "Alright.. I could probably get you a few things too." I added with a slight shrug. What else did I have to spend money on? Not much. I paid the bills and bought groceries, but other than that, I just had a bit of money building up every month. Might as well spend it on something for my daughter. Who, did I mention, came to me. I nodded slightly. That did make sense now that she said it. I guess I could very easily see Shelby doing something like that. No matter how sort of stupid it was. Before I knew it, she was hugging me and I was slightly taken aback by the sudden action. It wasn't everyday that these sort of things happened. Even when I went to visit. This was probably the most contact I'd had with any of my kids in a long while. After a moment though, I did hug her back and smiled slightly.

She nodded when he told her that he could get her a few things. Since she was allowed to stay here she was going to have to listen to her father for the first time in her life. She wasn't going to do anything that would betray what little trust he had in her."I guess if you want, just don't think you have to buy me every single thing in the store okay."She told him with a small laugh. "So do I get my own room or would you like me to sleep out here on the couch?"She asked him curiously. She really didn't mind sleeping on the couch she kind of found it more relaxing then sleeping on a bed. Weird huh, but not to her. She wanted to take as little space as she could. She didn't want to be in his way after all this was his home not hers.

I laughed a little, shook my head. "I wasn't planning on buying you the whole store." I said with a small smile. "Um.. you can stay wherever you'd like." I said with a small nod, looking around the room for a moment. "There's out here, or I have a spare room that you're welcome to use." I said looking back over to her. "Hell, you can my room if you want it." I added with a small laugh.

She shook her head and smiled."Thanks for the offer. But I'll take the spare room. You can keep your room. It be less work for me to make it my own."She grinned. After a couple of seconds or so she sighed slightly looking up at him she knew she was going to regret this later."There is one thing that you could get me....my books?"She asked if he had changed his mind that was fine because she still had books at school up in her dorm. All she really need was her books and its like she was home.
