clothing style; There was never anything special about what Devin wore. Mostly it was just worn out jeans and tee-shirts from his brothers, faded dirt and grass stains still covering the knees. Eventually his brothers all settled in stature for the time being, and didn't have enough excess clothing to pass along to Devin, giving him the chance for his own clothes. Still, he remained with the incredibly casual jean/tee shirt combination, having been used to it all his life, found nothing wrong with it, and no reason to change. While at Hogwarts, Devin wears the same black robes as everyone else, the only difference is the badge on the front that sets him apart from members of the other three houses. Overall, his style is seemingly consistent: jeans, tee-shirt, a hoodie if it's cold out, school uniform, and a pair of ratty old converse hightops.
overall appearance; Devin's feelings towards his hair range from when he doesn't really care about making his hair look great to extremely fussy about it, his mother has been known to complain once in a while about how much time he spends on his hair. Most often he tries to make it look decent, and even more often he succeeds. It is usually kept quite nice without needing much effort. There are a few stubborn locks that tend to stray and get in his eyes, which he doesn't mind the slightest. All his life he had the same problem, by now he's gotten used to it. His hair, unlike most everyone in his family's, didn't turn out as a darker brown, or in some cases more reddish. It turned out as a light, light, platinum blonde. He likes being seperated from the rest of his siblings and parents like this, it makes him feel original. His hair isn't short, but it isn't consideered long. A meduim length, reaching just past his ears with some exposure, in his opinion the perfect style for an older teenager.
Devin's eyes are probably the most amazing of his features. They are a shade of brown somewhere between dark and light, the shade between a dark chocolate color and a lighter copper. A shade of sepia or russet. No other color comes even close to comsuming the empty eyes, in a way they could be described as cloudy instead of brown. Not a single emotion can be reflected within them except for one. The calm, or nothing, that can be seen matches his personality well, almost never expressing anything but tranquility. The single emotion that can be seen is intensified fury, the feeling when Devin loses control to his temper. In this situation it's quite obvious as to what is happening. The shade of brown is fiery. It can be described as frightening, scary that someone so calm could express such hatred. Otherwise, the eyes are just pools of cloud, nothing more to see. This is another feature of his he likes, the look of peace and composure that strays from his eyes becoming what would be a window into his soul and emotions.
Devin is average height on the dot according to the charts, he had always been the same way. He stands at about 5'8”. Despite the height, though, he only weighs about one hundred and thirty six pounds. It makes him seem sickly and quite weak. Thin limbs and figure don't help the thought much either, you could probably count his ribs. However weak he appears, his build is extremely misleading. Devin is actually quite strong and able-bodied, enjoying many activities that involve physical activities. It's actually quite strange how his structure didn't appear more like his brothers', who all participate in similar activities. He is built for endurance rather than strength, and is quite the runner. Only at the times when he needs to does he show how capable he really is, which is more often than expected due to that temper of his. Devin likes to know he can defend himself when he has to, and how surprised everyone seems when they find he isn't so sickly.
Devin's father's family has the trait of darker hair and darker eyes, some of which even had darker skin as well. He doesn't really resemble this much in his physical features, though. If you were to put the two side by side no one would guess it was a father and son. His mother's side of the family, however, are easily resembled in Devin's appearance. They were known to have lighter colored hair, sometimes even red. Their eye color ranged from blue to hazel. He does resemble traits from his mother's side, the blonde hair and a very distinct pale complection make them seem more like family. In the summer, he still is pale, there's no such thing as a tan with Devin. There is, however, such a thing as sunburn. He's either pale or burnt, either way, he ends up pale again quickly. His skin tone is something he isn't too fond of about himself, Devin wishes he didn't look so ghostly.

overall personality; Anger: a strong feeling of displeasure and belligerence aroused by a wrong; wrath; ire. Devin isn't, well, let's say he isn't the most controlled person in the world. He has a rather wide range of emotions, some less common than others. Anger or annoyance fall into this category. Dev has a long list of things that could change his mood in a turn for the worst. Not always a good thing, is it? This temper of his is is both uncontrolled and unpredictable. He has a very small amount of control in this situation, and usually anger takes him over. Judgement disappears, and Devin finds himself blinded with rage, and quite revenge-obsessed. Vengeance has been known to push him in directions he would never have expected, and will test his mind for control. Thanks to his temper, Devin is cautious to blame anyone but himself, knowing that a fault of another will just lead to a sense of anger. Of that long list concerning the pet peeves and such, teachers and professors are two things he disrespects. The occasional time someone tries to push him around can put him on a suprisingly short fuse. He could easily be with some of his closest friends and want to kick something. Being somewhat unpredictable, he could also be with someone he strongly dislikes and be perfectly smug. This temper surprisingly shapes a lot of him personality.
Tranquil: free from commotion or tumult; peaceful; quiet; calm. That wide range of emotions ranges into the calm, cool, easy-going part of Devin. The better part, as he likes to say. Conscientiously, no one has ever disagreed. For the majority of time, Dev isn't very angry, and has a light airy personality. If you were to meet him while he was just speaking with friends in this chill and easy-going type of mood, you would have never guessed he had any means of a temper. Most of the time he's always perfectly decent to be around. Decent, meaning friendly and thoughtful of anyone remotely his friend, or even someone he has never met and wants to make a good impression on. But, having that wide spread of emotions, he can go from zero to boiling point in a milisecond. And back down again. Almost entirely, however, his mood is his mood, and that's it. There are as mention before the bridges to cause considerable changes. When Dev is feeling calm and content he has more power over his characteristics. And luckily for everyone, he's almost always at peace.
Decisive: characterized by or displaying no or little hesitation; resolute; determined. One thing that most would say about Devin is that he's street smart, not school smart. The truth is, he's both, actually quite intelligent and understanding. He both reads and processes information quickly, which is understandable considering Devin is quick minded when it comes to making descisions. It would seem he feels as if he has little time to pause, and therefore doesn't dwell on the subject for ages. To say so metiphorically, he doesn't look before he leaps, and is most confident in what he says. Instead, he thinks things through quite meticulously, even every day conversations. Under pressure his mind goes into over time, completing the full thought process about what is to happen in record time. Having the trait of guilt and making himself feel responsible for most everything that goes wrong, Devin doesn't always feel as determined. But he can recover easily and be equally as headstrong as he always was. He takes risks a lot, enjoying the adrenaline. Usually he hasn't a care in the world as to what he does. Unfortunately, he feels the need to quit whatever he's doing when he finds it inconveniences another whom he cares about. A bit of a people pleaser, he is.
Outgoing: interested in and responsive to others; friendly; sociable. Devin is absolutely dreadful at matching names with faces, and often times feels even more terrible about it. However, practice makes perfect, and he makes up for his incapability by being outgoing and friendly. His descisive traits not only make him a people pleaser, but they tend to make him bolder, too. More willing to meet new people and create great friends. Assuming, of course, that he's not embarrassed or taken off guard, two things that could happen rather easily. Don't be fooled by his tendancy to be effortlessly fazed, as he has a good sense of resilience, and regains his composure quickly. Devin, as said previously, is bolder than he looks, quite chivalrous really. Another benefit of being so quiet-yet-bold makes him less worried about what others think of him, also contributing to his sense of humor, or on occasion, lack of. His sense of wit isn't always found communitively funny, and much of the time he uses it to avoid awkward situations, which are, much of the time, what gets him fazed or caught off-guard. Overall, Devin's valiance combined with his out-going characteristics and sense of humor make him a rather likable person and easy to get along with, his boldness giving him the confidence to pull it off.

place of birth; Blackburn, England
date of birth; April 4th
brief history; Devin's mother came from a family with seven children. She was right in the middle of them all, with three younger and three older siblings. Though niether of her parents were particularily rich, they managed to support them all up until the oldest was ready for college. Though expensive, and requiring many sacrifices, the three oldest made it through without any problem. Once Devin's mother was eighteen she made a descision to not make her parents forfeit their money, and would stay around for a bit more to help out the family.
His father, on the other hand, came from a high class family with more money than needed to be successful. If they wanted to they could send each one of Devin's mother's siblings to college and have enough left over to buy a decent sized house and new furniture. Unlike the other family, they had only one child. He had gone to a private school all his life, and by high school he despised the harsh teachings with a passion. He became what would be considered a complete rebel in the private academies, but average in the public-school world. Due to grades that stooped at 'low' levels he attended a college that his parents didn't approve of, one that was much lower than their standards. He ended up going to the same college as Devin's mother's oldest brother. The two became great friends, and once the brother invited him to stay with him back at home one summer.
That summer Devin's mother and father fell in love, five monthes later they were married. Almost a year after that Devin's oldest brother Spencer was born. With the mix of backgrounds he ended up attending a higher-class public school, one that got good reviews and had a high percentage of intellegent students thanks to gifted teachers. Without doubt Spencer continued the tradition of being very successful, both with school and in many forms of sports, always the star player even from an early age. Devin had been jealous of it ever since he was old enough to understand how much pride his parents took in his brother. The two other older siblings, who also proved to be excellent achievers in their own ways, along with the parents setting high examples made it extremely difficult to fulfill what exactly they wanted.
His father, in particular, tended to explain how Devin was spiralling downward, way further down than the bar. He always said things about the three brothers being better. Better grades, more athletic, just better. And those sports teams, oh how Devin despised the sports teams. His mother never really talked down to him, but she never backed him up on anything. Truthfully, they never really spoke. The fact that he had a bad relationship with his father and brothers, but no relationship with his mother turned out to be worse than having a terrible one with everyone. He felt neglected.
Before he actually recieved the Hogwarts letter, there had been a few cases in which Devin had come across an ability unknown to muggles. He had been angry, his father's naggings and corrections were most likely what caused that large temper of his. It was early morning, his father had just placed a slice of bread in a toaster. He was telling Devin that there was no point in actually going to school, as he wasn't learning anything anyways. Devin was about to break into a yell when the slice of bread flew out of the toaster, charred and smoking. Everyone just assumed it was a malfunctioning circuit, and never really looked into it.
There had been a second magical encounter, Devin's active imagination had scared him when walking alone through an empty park at night. The lampposts suddenly grew brighter, as if trying to calm him down. The light filled up most all of the paths he needed to travel home. Again, Devin just thought of it as nothing, after all, his mind could really play tricks on him.
It was when he recieved his Hogwarts letter, the small paper that let him know he was a wizard, that Devin began to gain his confidence. At first, it did scare him, the thought of actually using magic like that of the magic shows. Only it was real. He thought of himself as a freak, and segregated himself, only to get more comfortable with who he was. Once he was invited to the school Dev fit in great, even had a bit of fun in the process. Now that he found someplace where he wasn't different, or insuperior. The rest is history.
[[ sorry I added the overall personality and appearance, it didn't feel right not adding it. hope that's alright ><' ]]
