[Riley Pearson]

I was quite confused right now. In fact, I was possibly so confused that I didn't even know how I was feeling. I still really frustrated about this whole thing with Arden.. I knew that she didn't love me.. and I knew that she wanted Logan.. not me. But it still bothered me and I wished that I didn't kiss her.. even though honestly, I think it may have been worth it to kiss her again. I just needed to get over her.. and then I would be fine.
At least until Riyann shows up.. then I'll have no idea what I'm going to do. She's been gone for quite a while already and I had no idea when she was going to be coming back. To see the girls.. and Justin. And to talk to me. But I doubted I would be seeing her anytime soon. She went away for a reason and when she's ready, she'll come back.

Right now I was walking down Diagone Alley, with a cup of tea from one of the local shoppes. I got off a bit early today and I thought that maybe I would just take a walk to make myself wake up a bit. It was cold enough out here, so maybe it would actually work. I needed to be awake.. and I couldn't fall asleep because I had promised the girls that we would go do something today. Well, techincally, I promised that they could have friends over.. and well, I couldn't really sleep through that, could I?

"Three, Four and Five."She counted as she waited for her turn in line. She had been craving a muffin that day since she really didn't eat anything. All she had that morning was her usual cup of coffee. It seemed to be working alright, but that didn't mean that she was going to starve herself. Sure she could of ate until she got home, but then again she was pretty sure that she need to go grocery shopping once again. Muffins were good and it would have to do for now. She paid for her muffin and waited about five minutes before deciding to step out into the freezing cold. She grabbed the bag that contained her muffin in one hand and opened the door with the other. Winter. You would think of snowmen and snow angels. Courtney thought of ice forming beneath her feet. She loved winter as much as the next person but she couldn't stand ice. It was slippery and hard. She out of almost everyone that would walk on a patch of ice. She was the one most likely to slip. And she wasn't going down alone.

She could hear the crack of the ice under her heel as she started waking down the street. Shetugged her coat tighter against her as she continued her rather long walk. That's when a brown haired head seemed to appear out of no where. It took her a while to figure out that it was Riley. She hadn't talked to him for a while. He seemed pretty down the first time they talked maybe he was feeling better. She thought as she shouted his name. hoping to catch him."Riley!! Hey!" She called out as she took another step forward and ended up slipping a ice. Who could of imagined that. She tried to regain her balance but only grabbed onto the person that happened to pass by her. They both ended on the ground. Courtney sitting on her muffin. As if things were not bad enough."You made me smash my muffin!"She yelled at the guy she had brought down with her.

I heard someone call my name and I looked up abruptly toward where the voice was coming from, pulling me out of my thoughts. I saw Courtney coming toward me and I smiled lightly to her, putting up a hand in a small wave. I was slightly surprised that she recognised me from back there, but I guess I was glad that she did. It'd be nice to talk to her again.. plus, probably an alright distraction.
But before she got very far, I saw her slip on a patch of ice and next thing I knew she had just fallen to the ground, taking a passer by down with her. I cringed slightly before biting my lip and heading over there, hearing her yelling at who she pulled down.
"Whoa, you okay?" I asked once I got over there, narrowly avoiding slipping and falling down too.

She looked up at the man that she had ran into. He was already on his feet apologizing and stretching out his hand to help her up. She took his hand and stood herself up. Wiping herself off from the muffin and the snow that had collected on her jeans. She smiled at the guy who helped her up slightly embarrassed she quickly apologized as well. She looked up at Riley who was now near her. She shook her head.Oh, my gosh he probably saw the whole thing She thought as she smiled at him. "Yeah, I'm fine. Um so how are you?"She said before laughing at what had happened.

The man that had fallen with her was already helping her up as I got there and I looked at the two of them before Courtney spoke up and I turned my full attention to her. I nodded a little with a small smile. "You sure?" I asked a moment later, just to be sure. Now this was basically just habit taking it's course, being a dad and a healer, I automatically double-checked on things, eying her slightly carefully as she stood there. Really, it probably wasn't anything remotely serious, but like I said, habit.
I laughed a little and smiled. "Um, yeah, I'm alright." I said with a small nod.

"Sorry, about that. It seems like I'm always running into things or people. That's good to hear."She told him smiling slightly. Good thing that I didn't have my coffee with me. She thought to herself. She had a whole conversation running through her head, but with that little accident she totally forgot what she was even thinking. Walking away from her crash site, she wanted to make sure if someone came along and slipped that they wouldn't take her down with them like she had done with that man."So, what have you been up to?"She asked him with a small smiled.

I laughed a little and shook my head. "That's nothing to be sorry for.. except maybe the guy you brought down with you." I added with a faint chuckle and smile, glad to hear that she was okay. She was walking, so I guess that I believed her.
She asked what I'd been up to and I didn't really know how I could answer that. There'd been a lot... Sort of. I guess it depends how you think of that question. Recently, I had found out that my sister really was alive.. and that Riyann really didn't kill her. Which in itself is huge.. and on top of that, I also got rejected by my best friend for her current boyfriend.. an Azkaban escapee, so actually also threatened to kill me. Why you might ask? Because I kissed his girlfriend, who I still have feeling for. Oh, and I also met someone and I'm sort of dating them.. And then Riyann showed up at my door, and I might still love her. Eventful? Yes. Something you tell someone when they asked you that question? Not so much.
So I paused for a moment before just shaking my head faintly. "A few things." I said with a faint smile back to her with a shrug. "How about you?"

She took a seat on the cold empty bench. She didn't want to go and fall again. This time with out someone she could take down with her. Feeling the cold almost through her clothing she shivered slightly and looked up at Riley while she waited for her answer."Hey I apologized for dragging him down with my, besides he made me crush my muffin."She said with a smirk. "Your just jealous it wasn't you who I dragged down with me."She joked laughing softly. Kicking the snow with her heel, she just had to do something. She couldn't stand or sit still. She just had to be moving. She heard him pause slightly before he answered her. When most people paused it was mostly because it was something a bit to personal or they were lying. Or at least that was with her experiences with people who paused."A few things huh. Well for me nothing very exciting so yeah nothing much just same old same old."She shrugged slightly. "Oh well, besides dragging that guy down with me."She laughed.

She sat down on a nearby bench and I followed her there, taking a seat next to her and taking a sip of my tea once I did due the instant chill that ran through me from the cold bench. I hated that feeling..
I nodded with an amused smile and nodded, "And that was very nice of you.. especially considering what he did to your muffin." I told her as I kept the smile on my face and looked over to her. Hearing her second comment, I laughed a bit more and shook my head faintly to myself. "How could I not be?" I asked nudging her arm lightly with my elbow, smiling.
More than likely, she knew that something had happened.. if nothing really did, then I probably wouldn't've paused. But really, I don't think there was much to share from that, that wasn't really personal.. Then again, knowing me, I'd probably end up saying it anyway at some point.
I nodded a little bit, chuckling at her comment about falling. "Really must not be a lot if that's the most eventful thing that's happened to you lately."

She rolled her eyes and laughed."Oh, Riley if your lucky enough. I might end up slipping and I just might take you down with me."She smiled watching the people walking by in such a hurried pace. She missed being so busy it would take her mind off a lot of thing that would be bothering her. She smirked slightly at Riley."Oh my gosh, Riley are you like in a murderous love square or something?"She joked laughing once again."Oh please you wouldn't be able to handle the kind of fun I would be having."She winked at him. "But really, work has been taking up most of my time, its almost a miracle that I finally have a day to myself."She nodded.

I laughed, smiling lightly over to her. "I'll be waiting." I said with a small chuckle and shake of my head. The next thing she said really wasn't that far off though. Well, except the murderous part.. There wasn't any of that.. at least not yet. I've been staying away from Arden, so I guess I was safe for now. But I did laugh a bit at what she said. But really, it was sort of like that, I liked three girls right now. Charlotte, Arden and Riyann.. This was going to give me a headache if it got anymore complicated.
I laughed again and grinned as she winked over to me and said what she did. "Don't be so sure." I said back to her, winking lightly back. Still joking with her, of course.
I nodded a little bit. "Yeah.. I know that feeling.. Maybe you should take some time off." I said with a faint smile over to her.

She shook her head and laughed once more."No offense Riley, but you seem like the kind of guy that likes to take things slow and play it safe."She smiled at him when he said to not be so sure and gave a little wink as well. She sighed. It was nothing but work work work. Well she had to do something to preoccupy her time. Well besides her children that is."Yeah, I should and maybe you should to. We wouldn't want to turn into workaholics now. You know how people are annoyed by workaholics."She laughed.

I laughed a little bit and nodded. "Yeah.. You maybe correct there." I said smiling lightly with a small shrug.
"Too late." I said with a small laugh. "I'm already there.. but yeah, both of us probably should take a break.."

She shook her head and laughed."Well that's um great Riley."She laughed once more. There was always a reason for the reason other stayed at work or even worked more often. It was because they had problems. It could be problems at home or just...because you wanted to get away. Well that was her reason. She wanted to get away. Forget everything and just work. Work to provide for her children they deserved the best. After all they were the best in her eyes."Anyways Mr. Love Square, do you want to get something to eat? I don't want anyone smashing another muffin or something. Don't worry its not my treat."She smiled laughing softly.

I laughed and just shook my head slightly, feeling slightly embarrassed for some reason. "Nevermind." I said with a small grin.
I think part of the going to work was that all I had to think about was work. Sure, I was tired. But I wasn't running around the house, trying to keep the girls in line, or getting woken up by Justin.. and best of all, I usually didn't have to think about much of my current issues with women.
I laughed at what she called me and was about to say something about how she wasn't going to pay, when she said it herself. I chuckled again with a slightly amused smile and nodded. "Yeah, that sounds good."

She smiled as stood up stretching out her arms a bit almost hitting a person that had just happened to walk by. Today was not her day. She was either taking people down with her or she was hitting them."Really? That's great because I'm seriously starving."She laughed and brushed her bangs away from her eyes before looking back at Riley."So, where do you want to go eat? Do you know of any good places around here?"She asked him curiously.

I covered my mouth, holding in a small laugh when her arm nearly a person that walked by. I grinned lightly to her and nodded, "Yeah, I'm pretty hungry too." I said letting out the small chuckle now. "Um.. I don't know.. I can't think of anywhere around here.. you got any ideas?" I asked back to her with a smile.

She shook her head and laughed."Well, Riley that's why I asked you. Anyways we could always eat somewhere around the muggle world if you want. I guess it also depends what you are in the mood for."She nodded. She really didn't mind if Riley wanted something way different then what she wanted. Just as long as she eat she would be happy. She wasn't really picky about food.

I laughed a little and shook my head faintly, "Sorry." I smiled. That made sense, so I don't know why I hadn't got that a moment before.
"Um.. I don't really feel like anything.." I said with a slight chuckle, smiling over to her. "As long as they have tea, I'm happy."

She shook her head."First you say your starving okay maybe that was me but still. But now you say you don't really feel like anything. Come on Riley I'll feel very uncomfortable if you don't eat something either. You have to eat alright. I don't want you fainting somewhere."She laughed softly. "You better eat or I'm going to pay for that tea."She smiled brushing her bangs away from her face."Um, how about Madam Puddifoots. I know its really girlish, but they have really good tea. And its to far from here."She grinned.

I laughed and shook my head. "I'm hungry, I just don't feel like anything specific." I smiled, putting my hands in my pockets. "Don't worry, I'll eat something." I added laughing softly too.
I raised my eyebrows slightly, "Um.." I laughed a bit. That place always seemed like the place to go if you were on a date or something.. I know that wasn't the case today, it just popped into my mind. "I guess that's okay.. their tea's pretty good." I smiled, pushing hair from my eyes.

She smiled and nodded."Sorry, I just wanted you to eat. Not just drink tea."She laughed feeling a bit embarrassed. Shaking her head she looked up at him."If you don't want to go there that totally fine with me. It was just the first thing that popped into my head."She explained herself as she started to walk a little bit. Not sure if he was going to change his mind and they would have to end up going in a totally different direction. Which was fine with her. Just as long as they settled on a place to eat. She could start to hear her stomach growling slightly.

I smiled and shook my head. "No, it's fine. Perfectly understandable." I said looking over to her. "Um.. There's fine." I added with a faint smile. "I just don't want to pick where. I've got terrible luck with that." I explained, thinking about the time when I picked and there was the crazy long wait, or the terrible waitress, or the bug in the food, or the allergic reaction...
I started to walk with her and shrugged a little bit. "This's fine."

She smiled and nodded once more as she started to pick up her pace just a little bit. She hoped that this time of day Madam Puddifoots wasn't extremely busy or something. She could get kind of mean especially when she was hungry. She couldn't remember the last time she yelled at a waitress. Then later regretted it since they took longer with her food. She finally learned not to mess with the people who are serving you meals. Aren't muggle movies great. After watching a muggle movie on tv that involved restaurants. She stayed at home for nearly a year. Well she didn't eat out that is."Alright."She simply said as they finally reached there destination. Opening the door she walked inside holding open for Riley of course. "So where do you want to sit?"She asked him.
