"Okay, got Isaiah's new robes, chocolate frogs for Liese and Jake... what else?" Shell mumbles as she struggles to check off a couple things on her long list.
Buying presents for a family of ten was always complicated, but without Jenny or Zoe to help her anymore, Shell had to run around and get everything herself.
Looking up at the clouded sky, she smiles as the snow falls all over her brown hair and face. "I love the snow." she whispers to herself before looking back down the paper before getting bumped from behind and dropping her packages along with the now soaked list from the slush. "Great... I hope that's still readable." she sighs as she picked up the list making sure she could make out what each individual child wanted for Christmas.

The biggest downside of snow...-slush. I pull a face as I manage to step into another slush pile. Snow, I loved it, I didn't love when it melted and turned into mush though. "There go my boots," I murmur softly, clutching dramatically at my chest. I manage a giggle from both Alex and Abby. "Come on, don't you too step in puddles too," I grin wryly, hoisting Abby up into my arms. I was at peace this time knowing that I couldn't lose either of them. Ian still suggested that I tie them together, pfft some fathering skills. Abby was wearing a bright yellow coat with red boots and a matching red hat, so I didn't have to worry about losing her in the crowds, and Alex was always at my heels so that caused me no worry. That and the fact he's already taller then me. Stupid Turner/Hunt gene. "Come on Lex, keep up,"

Shell sighs shaking the parchment out a little before turning around and noticing Maddie. I thought she disappeared with Ian and her family... why is she here? Biting her lip slightly she decided whether or not to go up to her and ask how she was or just pretend not to see her. After all, they weren't that close. Watching Abby and Alex run around in the slush and hearing Maddie comment about her ruined boots. Laughing a bit, she decides to walk over to where she was walking to. "Hey Maddie!"

"Lex, what did I say? Keep up," I murmur, hoisting Abby higher into my arms. She was ridicoiously tiny for a three year old. Then again, I was too when I was her age. I stop slightly when I realize who's talking to me. "Oh, hey," I mutter softly, keeping my gaze on the crowd, tryign to figure out where Lex had gotten to.

Shell frowns a bit, now glancing to the ground as well. Well this is just awkward... "So, um. I thought I wasn't going to see you again to be honest." she says slowly, not sure if that was a creditable sentence for her to say. She said her goodbyes to all of them but Maddie which was intentional, but standing there staring at each other's boots is not a conversation at all no matter the circumstances. Deciding to stop with that question she glances over at Abby and Alex smiling slightly. "They've grown a lot, haven't they?" she says with a weak smile.

And I certainly hoped I've never see you again. I think bitterly, holding Abby closer to me. It like rubbing it in her face that Abby is mine and Ian's and that he's mine and always will be, I'm making no attempt to hide it, I shouldn't have to. She knows what she did to stab me in the back. "Yeah, well I didn't expect to be back," I murmur.

Hearing her thoughts, Shell bites her lip. If she didn't she probably would be snapping back at her for that one but she knew she deserved it. Plus, she was trying to be civil with her seeing as she could have just avoided her all together but she choose this. Glancing at Abby she just laughs to herself. It really didn't bother her that Ian and Maddie were together and not the other way around. She had Violet still, and that all that mattered to Shell. "That's what Ian told me, that you guys weren't coming back. Missed this place that much then?" she asks trying not to let her temper fly off the handle.

"Alexander, come on what I say? Stay close." I murmur, turning my attention to Alex, who's inching closer and closer to the shops nearby. "Telling you Maddie, he's going to have the attention span of a fish." "Shut up Ian, he will not." Dammit, he's right again. I make a mental note not to tell him this, seeing as it'll only boost his ego. "I've got family here, I'm not about to run off and never see them again." Liar.

Shell glances over at Alex before tilting her head. On all the occasions when she seen him he always seemed to be distracted by something, mostly his shoes. He did talk to her once, mostly about Poppy. "Well that's nice of you then, not to just cut them off completely. We're they excited to see you or have you not visited yet?" she asks giving a faint smile. At least Maddie didn't just ditch her family... Unlike me. But then again, they left me first really.

Uncomfortable is an understatement. I manage to balance Abby on my hip, while using placing my thumb and forefinger in my mouth, whistling to get Alex's attention. It's a bit sad that it works. Just like a dog... I have to fight back a smile at the blank look on his face. "Just like your Da," I tease. My stomach jolts slightly at the mention of my family."I've yet to see them." I can't find them.

Shell watches Maddie call or whistle for her son to keep up. That just seemed a little sad that it did work. She sighs lightly at Maddie's statement, before shifting a little back and forth on her shoes. She knew she shouldn't have worn high heels today, always too stubborn. "Oh... well I'm sure they'd be happy to see you. All of you were always so close. May I ask you something then? I know you won't like it though seeing as this is clearly uneasy for the both us." she says softly before biting her lip again.

"Here, take her," I murmur as Alex stumbles over, handing him Abby. She's three and still being carried around by everyone, maybe she is being a bit spoiled. I grin down at Abby, pushing her hair out of her face. I don't care, she's my baby. I'll spoil her all I want. Ian does the same. Abby cries whenever Ian leaves her line of vision. She's gotten really attached to him. Daddy's girl.
"What is it?" I ask, trying to keep my tone from being snappish. I'm trying to be nice, I really am. It's just hard.

"I know this is a long shot and you're probably going to just laugh in my face or possibly worse but." she says letting out a sigh before glancing down to her feet. How could she even put this? It was clearly obvious that Maddie hated her still but it was still going to bother Shell if she didn't ask. This might be the last time that she might ever see Maddie.
"I was wondering, in small doses of course but if we could um. Become even just acquintances, possibly friends? I know what Ian and I was wrong Maddie and you hate me terribly but I had to ask you." she says softly just waiting for her hypothesis to become a reality.

"You really thinks it's going to be that easy?" I ask softly, pushing my hair back behind my ear. It's been ten years, I think I could hold my grudge for a while longer. Even if it won't change anything.

"Honestly no. I know it's not, but we could try, if you wanted." she replies just as soft before glancing back down to her feet as her curls fall around her shoulders. "I was stupid and young. I can't what happened Maddie as much as I want to."
