"I suppose...." I shrug slightly. "There's a fair few people who could've though, and it doesn't matter much I'd think."

"Probably," I nod, trying to keep my mind off of Liam."Hope she starts saying more though, she's a lot quieter then Alex and Poppy were when they were her age,"

I laugh slightly. "Is that wholly a bad thing, though? And she does talk... somewhat, so it's not as though she's mute."

"I'm use to my children not shutting up," I grin,"It werid,"

"Well, weird is hardly bad though," I shrug. "Sometimes. Worried she got switched at birth or something?"

I laugh softly,"I hope not, 'cos if so I doubt I'm giving her back."

"I'd hope the other family wouldn't want to get rid of theirs either." I laugh slightly, then shrug. "Then again... it's not like Ian talks much if he doesn't want to, so it isn't that strange even just going by genetics."

"Ian's just Ian," I laugh softly, tucking a loose strand of hair back behind my ear."But even he's not mute, I think Abby's just going to be that one child that's going to stand out the most in our family,"

"Nothing wrong with that, I suppose." I shrug slightly. "And she's bound to be a bit off in some ways, being so much younger than Poppy and Alex."

"Let's just hope by age five she starts talking, Alex wouldn't shut up at age two," I grin.

"She'll talk when she likes, I'm sure." I shrug slightly, then pause. "I mean, it's not as though she can't. That would be worrisome, correct?"

"Now that would be worrisome," I murmur, biting down on my bottom lip.

I nod, biting my own lip briefly without noticing we have the same habit. "So is two and three months a bit worrisome?" I ask, frowning slightly.

"Maybe," I murmur,"Maybe they're just late bloomers?"

"I suppose...." I shrug slightly. I should really stop obsessing so much over my niece's lack of speech. Just because she doesn't talk yet and didn't walk 'til nearly one doesn't mean that she'll be a Squib like Trisha, or even that it will matter if she is. Plenty of people have told me this, including myself, but it somehow hasn't sunk in. I shake my head. "I worry too much, don't I?"

"Not as much as Ian," I say, grinning weakly."Don't worry, sure it's nothing."

"How do you know?" I mutter, raising my eyebrows, then shake my head. "But right, it's probably nothing. She's just an odd, unnaturally quiet girl in a family of excitable loudmouths. It's no wonder she and Abby got along." I smile slightly.

"Cos most people often worry about nothing," I say, pushing another lock of my hair back behind my ear. "Yeah, that sounds like my Abby too,"

"Could be." I smile slightly. "Though if Isobel's first word is 'Abby' or something, I imagine Lilith will be pretty upset."

"Mm." I nod, then glance down at Melody, still holding onto her hands. "I wonder what her first word will be... though it won't be for a bit yet. What were Alex and - Abby's?" I ask, remembering at the last minute that she probably doesn't know what Poppy's first word was.

I smile,"It'll probably be something she sees everday," I grin wryly,"Lex's first word was 'Da' Abby's was 'Bird', the first word varies,"

"Maybe it'll be me then." I laugh slightly. "Or 'blanket' because usually she's fascinated by them. Bit sad though that you didn't get a first word." And ironic that Alex's was 'da.'

"Sounds like an excellent plan." I laugh slightly. "Whose little girl is that then?"

"Leney's." I laugh softly,"She's around eighteen months at the moment, perfect age for corruption."
