Laying in the middle of the quidditch pitch, looking at the clouds traveling over the stadium. A lot had happened lately. Becoming a grandmother, might be having another child, and Shell was in her third week of staying in bed and being 'single'.
She sighs closing her eyes a bit, tracing the sky with her index finger drawing between the clouds to find animals or flower like shapes. To her it took more imagination to think outside of the box or in this case, outside of the clouds.

Going to the pitch without a broom almost adds up to making no sense at all. That's what I did, went to the pitch to practice for the up coming games and I didn't have my bloody broom with.
Shaking my head a little I was about to turn around, but I saw someone laying out in the middle of the pitch and scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion. Usually people layed out in front of the lake or in the courtyard, not in the middle of the Quidditch Pitch. So instead of going to get my broom and make sense of being on the pitch I started towards the figure, wondering who it could be and why they were absolutely bonkers to be out here.
Raising a small eyebrow I almost laughed softly, it wasn't a student, and not only that but it happened to be someone who used to be a professional quidditch player, Shelby used to be Chou now Slayter, the Astronomy teacher.
"There a reason you happen to be in the middle of the pitch Professor?" I asked, a small smirk dancing on my lips.

Shell glances over and sighs, noticing one of her students. "Because Mason, I like to lay out here. Reminds me of playing keeper." she says softly pointing over to the three rings. "And I'm tracing shapes out of the cloud borders." Shell adds with a grin.
Shell notices he didn't have a broom out here with him, as hers was over on the side of the pitch. "Why are you out here today, since we're asking questions." she asks raising an eyebrow at him a bit when she glanced as his smirk. No wonder she was never too fond of slytherins.

I simply nodded a little, shaking his head. "Fun, I guess." I said, shrugging my shoulders lightly. It was always something to be nice to teachers, still he could have some of the Slytherin traits showing through, even if they weren't him.
"Was coming out to practice and I happened to have absent mindedly forgotten my broom Professor." He said, chuckling a little bit at her with another small shrug.

Shell sits up slightly and frowns at him. "It's the summer Mason. You can call me Shell or Mrs. Slayter." she says cringing a bit to herself. Shell wasn't going to be Mrs. Slayter for much longer. She was going back to either Crescent or maybe even Chou again.
She stands up and dusts off her red dress and black belt buckle that held it together. "You're on the Slytherin team, right? What position?" she asks, sorta hoping he wasn't a keeper for some reason suddenly.

"Alright, Mrs. Slayter." I said, shaking my head a little bit. It didn't much matter to me anymore. She was a professor, could just as well call her that, it didn't change over summer or the breaks.
Watching her stand up I raised a small eyebrow at how she had to dust off her dress. "That I am." I said, nodding a little shaking my head slightly. "Chaser." I added with a slight nod.[/sie]

Shell nods a bit, rolling her eyes slightly as she walked along the center line of the pitch. "Are you any good? I would help my fellow ravens, but the headmaster tells me it would be an unfair advantage unless I help everyone. So, if you like the Holyhead Harpies I could help you." she smiles, before turning around and walking back.

I tried and ignored her as she rolled her eyes and walked along the center of the pitch. "Course I am." I laughed. "You can help if you want." I said, shaking my head slightly. "Actually Holyhead Harpies are tied for second." I said, nodding a little after seeing her turn around again. "Friend of mine thinks they're the best." I said, shrugging a little with a small amused smile.

"Tied for second? With who and who's first?" Shelby asks, putting her hands onto her hips with a playful glare towards him. "And I think I like your friend. Who is he or she?" she asks with a small smile.

"Puddlemere comes in first." I said, laughing at her glare and shaking my head lightly. "And Holyhead Harpies ties with Grodzisk Goblins, you know because they have had the greatest seeker of all time." I added, nodding. Huh, I like her too. "Meilana Lacey."

Shell shrugs lightly, still with a grin. "What's so great about Puddlemere? All they have was Joscelind their greatest chaser, and it's Dumbledore's favorite team. And I'm not to fond of seekers much." she shrugs again.
"Holyhead Harpies on the other hand, played a seven day match and it's widely considered to be the finest game ever played, and I named my daughter Zoe after the Captain that played that game too. And it's all girls come on now." she teases with a laugh.
Shell smiles a little more when she heard Mei's name. "I've met her. Completely excited when I ran into her at the quidditch shop. Sorta funny though, she asked if I knew who I was and I signed her shoe." she laughs again. "Is she your girlfriend or just a classmate?"

I laughed a little, shaking his head slightly. "That and their last beater was bloody brutal." I said, with a grin "Though that's not why they're so great. Just don't quite know yet. I had to pick because Lace was asking me and they were the first so I'm sticking to that." I siad, laughing again. "Seekers are the ones that win the game. Besides haven't you ever heard of the Wronski Feint? One of the greatest plays ever."
"That or they could've been the fact that they were only as great as the other team and neither was the greatest." I teased, not being serious. "Nah, they're good, I know that." I added with a nod. "Quite like them. Zoe who?" He asked, raising an eyebrow towards her in question. Either Chou or Slayter, can't quite be the same Zoe you happen to know and dislike quite a bit. Zoe's a common name. Sort of.
I laughed a little when she started talking about Meilana. "She's quite the girl." I said softly, shaking my head lightly. Asking a professor for their signature because they used to be a professional quidditch player, odd. "Not quite sure at the moment." I said, looking towards her and shaking my head a little. Shell laughs a bit, before shaking her head. "True, I suppose. Had to guard myself against a few brutal beaters in my day..." she says, instantly feeling older than she was. "Of course I've heard of that. This me you're talking to." she says with a wink to him.
Shell crosses her arms lightly, knowing he was teasing. "Or they just felt bad for them and decided to give them a chance." she smiles with a grin. "Zoe Henderson. I was married a long time ago to a Nicholas Henderson." she nods lightly now remembering what Zoe told her in the kitchen. Mason. Jay. Bradley. Okay mum? He's the father.
"Claims I'm her favorite quidditch player, or one of them at least." she nods, feeling her tone instantly grow bitter before forcing a smile at him. "You do know we're somewhat related... Henderson and Crescent? Pureblood families." she adds, hoping he would get the hint.

"I would've guessed so, that is unless you wanted to be hit by the bludger." I said, shaking my head with a small grin. "Hey, you never know with the people out there in the world." I said, laughing a little for the moment.
"Right, because people want to lose the match or make it a little less fun for themselves, unless it's fun to play against someone who's nowhere near as good and keep it going for 7 days." I said, shaking my head a little at that, not exactly talking about the holyhead harpies, just rather commenting on her comment. Bloody hell. Figures this was going to turn worse at some point. "Right." I said, nodding a little.
"Wouldn't think she'd lie about that." I said, shrugging my shoulders, trying my hardest to ignore her tone that was starting to get slightly bitter. Nodding at her next comment, he bit the inside of his cheek. "Right, well I better be going." I said, doubting she was going to let me go, especially now that she knew I was the father of her grandaughter. She'd probably rather murder me. Though I have been starting to think that I do want to play a role in the baby's life, she does happen to be my daughter as well. Also will have to tell my mum and father. Telling them? That's not going to go good you know. Right, maybe it'll get me out of this bloody wedding. [/blockquote]

Shell nods lightly, "Yeah, bludgers hurt. Had plenty of broken limbs due to a violent beater." she nod again trying to keep her temper.
Shell raises an eyebrow at him ignoring the rest of their conversation before walking in front of him. "Nope. You're not going anywhere. Do you think it's fun to have a one night stand with my daughter, knock her up and then not help her with your daughter? You don't even care do you? All you care about is your Slytherin status of only socializing with your own kind and having fun." she mutters, almost screaming at him as she gave him a glare. Shell wouldn't had been suprised if it could kill him at this point.

I let a soft and faint whistle pass my lips as I watched her talk about the beater and shook my head a little.
"Hey, I was drunk and I don't even remember seeing her, let alone doing anything with her. She's the one who came up to me, positive I was the bloody father. Why don't you ask her why she's sleeping with random people." I said, rolling my eyes at her. Yes this was bloody brilliant. "Right Professor, I planned this, just wanted a little fun, you know." I said, nodding my head, sarcasm dripping through my words. "If I had wanted you to guess what I was like I would've asked, now if you don't mind I'm leaving." I added, emphasis on the leaving and starting to walk around her, really doubting she was going to let me leave. [/blockquote]

Shell watches him walk away a bit before walking up behind him and grabbing his wrists to turn him around. "I don't care who came onto whom or if you were drunk. You're weren't responsible and neither was she. So now you both have to grow up and raise this baby. It took two to make Kalin and so it takes two to raise her, whether you two like it or not." she says staring up at him. "You're not getting out of this if I can help it Bradley. Trust me on that." "Bloody fucking hell." I muttered as she grabbed onto my wrists and turned me to face her. "Gah, I don't care." I said, taking my wrists from her hands forcefully. "Look, I've known that I've become a father for about a day I don't know what's going on yet, but I'm pretty sure Zoe wants nothing from me but money to raise t-her." I said, about to say the thing, but correcting myself, pretty sure that she was mad, more than in the angry way, not quite wanting to push any buttons. "I haven't had any bloody time to think about this so why don't you back off and lead your own bloody life." I said, looking at her in disgust and starting to walk away again. [/blockquote]

[sze=1] "What do you want woman!?" I asked, turning around after a moment, seeing her arms crossed and looking at me, not having had moved from where I'd last left her. So far I really didn't want anything to do with Zoe and the rest of her family, not after all of this. I didn't before either, might've gone and visited the bloody, visited Kalin. Shell raises an eyebrow at him, shaking her head. "Don't use that tone with me Bradley. Have you even gone to see your daughter? She's absolutely beautiful and if you're worried about pureblood status, it's close enough seven eighths." she says already calculated in her head with a sigh. "Just go talk to Zoe and see her. Maybe that will make you open your eyes to the situation."

"Yes I saw her when Zoe insited I was the father, when I went and took a bloody test to prove her wrong and was wrong myself." I said, really not wanting to talk to her anymore. "I don't want anything to do with Zoe or the rest of her family, except for my daughter." I said, shaking my head and glaring at her. "So just stay away from me and stay out of this." I said, turning around again.

"It's sorta hard when she's apart of our family Mason. Don't make me go talk to your parents. I know them fairly well." she mutters and with that she turns around and plops back in the center of the quidditch pitch letting out a deep sigh.

"Right, well I can stop by pick up Kalin say hi and leave then bring her back, see there I would be avoiding all of you." I said, smiling a little in her direction, the smile forced. I didn't like the idea of being a father, I had too many other things to deal with. "Don't you even think of speaking to them." I said, glaring at her again, even though all I saw now was her back. They'd find out that Kalin wasn't pure blood and make it so I couldn't see her again, either that or disown me, I'd be out of a wedding, yes, but I'd be out of everything I'd need to help raise my daughter. And it would all be to blame on this insane woman.

Shell heard what he said and just laughed. "I thought that would get your attention. I'll talk to them if you don't help her Bradley. I know how important pureblood bonds are..." she calls rolling her eyes. Shell hated the pureblood life. Why would you want to marry a cousin of yours just because of blood? They weren't better than everyone else it was just a stupid title.

"Right, I'd love to stay and chat with you on how utterly wrong you are on the part where the pureblood bonds are important and all, but I don't have to waste my breath on you." I spat out towards her, rolling my eyes as I started turning again. I wasn't about to tell her everything on how she was wrong, if she talked to them, it would be her mistake and I wouldn't help in the least because I wouldn't be able to.

"I was being sarcastic. I was exactly like you as a child. Hated pureblood status, never being to make my own choices, live the life I wanted. But yet you still don't want to throw it away even when you have the chance." she says shaking her head at him. Sure she was made to do half of those things as the Dark Ruby, but she still hated the whole ideal of it now when she had to visit her father still.

"Right, Professor, wrong again, at least you have part of it right, so I'll just leave you to thinking that out or going to talk to my parents." I said, rolling my eyes, wondering why I'd turned around again, not quite remembering doing so. I did hate the pureblood status, I did hate not being able to make my own choices, not being able to control my life and get out of the bloody marriage and go date Meilana or something. But I had to deal with that, even more now that I had to help raise my daughter, though I'm sure I'd make that decision at some point if it hadn't been forced on me. Still, I needed the money, and I'd go through with losing everything I'd just started getting control over.

Shell just rolls her eyes as well, staring back at the clouds. "Just go back under your pureblood rock and stay there Bradley if you don't want to break from it. I could help, but be stubborn like the rest of them." she says extending her hand back out towards the sky like when he found her.

"You really think you know everything, that you're something, don't you?" I asked, almost in disbelief. "I'd more than anything want to get away from my family and their stupid ways, from my cousin who I'm supposed to marry in less than a year, but you know, forget it." I started yelling at her, then muttered to myself as I started walking away again. I don't think I've ever had to stop so many times from leaving or walking away from some one. Not like I wanted it to happen that way. Before I would've given anything to get this kind of chance to get out of being married off to my cousin, but now it wasn't just about me. Could bloody well just go die, no one would be missing me. I thought bitterly as I made my way across the pitch.
