It was the day after my birthday and I was sitting in the Great Hall, at the Gryffindor table, eating a piece of pie and sitting with a book open infront of me. There were a few people in the Hall at the time, but I wasn't really paying much attention to them. I hung out with my brothers yesterday and they proceeded to hit my arm seventeen times; a tradition they started when I turned thirteen and the tradition that usually ends with me having a nice black and blue mark on my arm. But it was still good to see both of them instead of just the one.
I ate another small piece of my pie and closed my book before taking out some parchment and a quill so I could write my mum and dad. They both sent me a couple packages yesterday so I thought it'd be good to write them and thank them.

Yesturday didn't quite go how I had planned it. I'd gone and gotten a gift for Meilana, I just ended up not being able to go see her and hanging around with my future wife, sounds great when you're starting to like this friend you can't even see infront of most of the people and you're getting married.
Okay, so it sounds more like a problem.
Walking into the Great Hall, I sighed softly, having Lace's gift in my hand, hoping to find her somewhere, this was the last place to look throughout the school, though not the grounds.
Looking up and down the Gryffindor table I tried to spot her, and eventually did, thankfully because not that many people were in the great hall as it was. Gooing over I sat down across from her, raising a small eyebrow at the book she had in front of her, but set the gift down anyways.
It was the knee high plaid socks she wanted and then a simple braclet with small emeralds going around the braclet. Really, that's what I was wondering if I should get her or not, but too late. "Hey there." I said with a small grin.

I looked up from my parchment when I heard Mason and smiled lightly to him when he said hi to me. "Hey." I said grinning softly after a moment and setting down my quill. He set a gift down infront of me and I laughed a little bit looking at it.
"You know you really didn't have to get me anything." I said with a small grin, shaking my head a little bit.

I watched as she set the quil down and laughed a little bit after she laughed. "I know, you told me that several times I think." I said, nodding a little. "But you know, I can take this back and keep the socks to myself." I added, shrugging a little with a small grin, forcing myself not to look around the room and see if anyone was looking at the two of us.

"I wanted to make myself clear." I said with a small grin, picking it up and shaking it before he said that he could take it back and keep the socks. "Ooh, so you did me the socks?" I asked him witha small grin, "And that's alright.. You already bought it so I think I'll keep it.. even if I don't know what it is yet." I said with a small laugh, still grinning.

"Ah, okay, just clearing that up for you then." I said, laughing a little when she started shaking the gift. "Course, you wanted plaid socks." I said, smiling as I shook my head a little. "Well then I'm glad you'll keep it."

I laughed a little, smiling. "Thank you though.. This's really nice of you." I said with a light smile, before looking at the other thing he got me and then looking at the other one. "What is it?" I asked before shaking it slightly again, with a small laugh.

I nodded a little, smiling towards her. "You're welcome." I said back to her with a small grin, watching as she looked at the gifts and laughed softly. "Why don't you open it?" I asked, shaking my head a little at her.

I laughed a little and nodded. "Right.. that would probably help.." I said with a smile, looking at it for a moment longer before opening the one I knew was knee socks. I grinned and laughed a bit, "These are awesome." I said with a small chuckle before setting them aside and opening the other one, ripping the paper slightly as I did. I opened the box that I had unwrapped and raised my eyebrows slightly at what it was. It was a simple bracelet with emralds going around it. I ran my fingers over it for a moment before looking back up to him. "This's too expensive." I said shaking my head faintly. Yeah, I mean, I definately liked it, I don't think that I couldn't not love it.. but it was expensive.. I know it had to be at least a little. "I mean, I love it, but i-it's too much."

I laughed a little and shook my head at her. "You need to try and think a little more Lace, not good if you don't." I said, smiling to her as she opened the socks and laughed a little. "Glad you think so." I watched her, figuring that she probably would comment on how expensive it was, but hey, she said one of her favorite colors was green, and plaid, and it was somewhat, simple? "How do you know I didn't buy it for a couple of knuts off of some Lady's wrist?" I asked, raising an eyebrow slightly amused.

I laughed a little at his comment and shook my head. "I guess I don't, did you buy it off a lady for a couple knuts?" I asked with a small grin.

I laughed a little and nodded. "Trust me, you do. Though, not that I mind sometimes, because I can always say it's just my cute face." I said, letting a small dramatic sigh past my lips before laughing again.
"I guess that's my secret to keep, huh?" I asked, raising an eyebrow towards her in question. I didn't buy it off a lady for a couple of knuts, no I went and bought it for quite a bit, though not that anyone would actually notice.

"You aren't going to tell me?" I asked with a small laugh, smiling lightly to him before looking back down at the bracelet with a smile before back up to him. I highly doubted he bought it for a couple knuts and I also doubted that he'd take it back because of the price.

"Nope, but if you want you can sell it, though I'm not taking the money back either." I said, shrugging a little. "So I guess you're either stuck with the braclet or you're stuck with the money."

I laughed slightly, still grinning. "I'll just live with it then I guess." I shrugged lightly.
I chuckled softly, "So there's no way to just give it all back to you?" I asked with a small smile, looking back up to him before standing up and crawling under the table and sitting next to him.

I chuckled softly and nodded a little bit, looking at the bracelet again. "Then I guess I don't have much of a choice..." I said shaking my head a little bit, and smiling up to him before leaning in and giving him a hug.

"Then I am glad to say you're not suicidal either." I said, laughing a little towards her. It was always a good thing to know your friend, in this case forbidden crush, isn't suicidal.
"That's right." I grinned towards her before watching as she leaned closer and hugged me, after heisitating for a split second I moved my arms around her waist slightly and hugged her back. "Sorry for missing your birthday Lace." I murmured softly.

"I'm glad I'm not either." I said witha small laugh, shaking my head a little bit.
I noticed he hesitated for a moment but just ignored it as he hugged me back. I shook my head faintly with a small smile, hugging him a little tighter for a moment before pulling away slightly, "Don't worry your pretty little head about it." I said with a smile to him. "It's just a day." I smiled.

I let her pull away from the hug first and pulled back with a small shake of the head. "So now my face is cute, my head is pretty and little, and I make it so you can't very well finish your sentences, interesting Lace." I said, laughing a little.

I laughed a little as I took the bracelet out of the box and attempted to put it on myself as I spoke. "Yes, well, it's all true.. well, then again, I'm not sure about your head being little." I said joking with him.

I watched her and her attempt to put the braclet onherself and laughed a little, taking it from her hand. "I'll get it silly," I said, laughing softly as I started putting it on her wrist. "Right, my head's got to be huge from hanging around you." I said, shaking my head with a smile and clasping the braclet as I looked at her.

I nodded a little. "You're welcome." I said softly with a small smile. "Exactly, either that, or it's getting larger with things to tease you about." I added, laughing a little as I looked down at her wrist, letting my hand fall from the braclet, brushing against her skin lightly before pulling it back. "There." I said, nodding a little towards the braclet with a small smile before looking up at her.

I laughed a little. "Could be that too I guess." I said witha small smile to him, feeling his hand brush lightly against my skin a moment after he clasped the bracelet. "Thanks." I said smiling to him before looking down at the bracelet for a moment still smiling. "This's probably one of the nicest things anyone's ever gotten me." I said with a soft chuckle.
