"Thanks." I said with a faint smile taking the letters from her. "Um.." I paused and looked at the price on the back first. I bit my lip for a moment before deciding that I didn't feel like thinking about it. I had some money to spend, so why not. "I'll just get them for both of them." I haven't been spending any money lately anyway, so for the first time in a while I was actually living pretty comfortabley. I didn't know if it was just me or not, but I felt like she went from.. flirting? Was she flirting? To nothing.. I dunno, maybe I just suck at this. Yes, I think that I do.. Maybe I should just give her my number.. no... yes. I'll figure it out later. Why was I even thinkng about this? I was still getting over Arden.. and well.. then again, maybe this was what I needed.

I smiled and nodded a little bit. "Hope so.. they're costing me a fortune.." I said with a small chuckle. She gasped and I looked over to what she was looking at, grinning faintly, being a bit more than slightly amused. I don't think I've ever seen that reaction to a hippo necklace. I think I will give her my number.. "You don't have to apologize." I said laughing a little bit. "You're allowed to love hippos.. Hippos are awesome."
At the next thing she said I raised my eyebrows slightly, "I, um.. No, not dating anyone." I said as I took the post it from her. They'd rather date a murderer.[/] "But um.. I think I'll pass on the story.. least for now." I said shaking my head a little bit, smiling lightly to her and at the lady bug post it. This had only happened to me a couple other times.. and honestly those girls scared me. I liked this one, so of course I was going to call her.

I chuckled a little bit and nodded. "Only one sister.. but she was pretty spoiled too." I said smiling slightly. I smiled and nodded again. "They're almost as cool as goats." I said with a small nod, grinning faintly, just kidding around with her. Hippos were quite possibly cooler.
I shook my head. "No, that's okay." I said with a faint grin to her, looking at the number a moment before putting it in my pocket and leaning faintly on an empty space of the wall I was standing in front of. "Cos you'll be with me?" I asked a moment later, grinning faintly over to her. I wondered slightly if I should feel bad for this.. I don't think I was using her.. I mean, I liked her enough.. but I feel like saying that I needed this to get over Arden sounds a bit like using. So hopefully I'm wrong about that.
"Ah.. yeah.. I guess so." I said with a small laugh.

"Yeah, hippos are pretty awesome.. definitely no offense taken." I smiled, shaking my head.
She blushed and I chuckled softly, smiling as I watched her seem to struggle with getting words out. I didn't mean for that to happen. I nodded at her question though. "Yes, I'm asking you out." I said with a small laugh, smiling. "Anytime, except tomorrow.. I'd invite you to the girl's birthday, but they don't like when I bring girls home.. so.." I shrugged a little bit. "Tonight if you want."
She walked over to the counter without much of a word and I just shrugged and followed her over there after picking up a couple of silver linked bracelets too.

[/color] the cashier says and I sigh. It was rather pricey for my taste, but then again Madison said she would pay no matter the price. She also said to go wild with the money and this wasn't even scraping the surface in her definition of the phrase. I turn around and notice Riley walking up the counter as well. I move to the side and wait for him to pay for his gifts for the girls.[/ul]

I smiled and nodded. "Seven's good." I said back to her, noticing her voice sounded a bit different. She actually seemed... surprised. That I had asked her out, I mean. I feel like she would get asked a lot, but maybe I was wrong. "Promise it's not you.." I said with a faint shake of my head.
I stepped up to the counter a moment after she moved over and watched the cashier ring up my items. It'll be Thirty galleons and four sickles, sir." They said, causing me wince slightly. "Holy shit.." I muttered to myself, taking out my checkbook. Once I had paid, I grabbed my bags, telling the cashier to have a good day and turned to Charlotte. "More expensive than I thought." I said with a faint chuckle, feeling a bit sick from that transaction.

I smiled, "It's a date." I said, really not paying any attention to the fact that she said cool. It was in my vocabulary now anyway since I had two daughters. Plus my sister seemed to say it a lot too, so it didn't phase me. "Cool." I said back to her, smiling faintly.
"Yeah, but that doesn't make me feel any less sick." I said with a small laugh, letting out a deep breath a moment later.

I smiled, "Hope so." I said with a small nod over to her. "Awesome.. see you tonight." I added a moment later, walking backwards a bit, only to run into someone.I turned around quickly, "I'm so sorry." I said shaking my head faintly over to the older woman I just ran into. Later
Once I got home, I headed up to my room and after wrapping the girl's presents, I put them in my usual hiding place. The loose floorboard under my bed. I don't think they knew about it yet, so hey, that was good enough for me. I wasn't planning on telling them I was going on a date and just said that I would be back later and had to do go get a few more things for the next day. Yes, it was a lie, but I didn't want tell them I was going on date. Not yet.. in fact, I probably wouldn't tell them at all unless it got somewhat serious.. well, maybe not. I don't know. I can't believe I'm even thinking about this.
I strolled down the street of diagon alley where the store was. I was almost slightly nervous.. almost. I don't know why, but in comparison to other occasions I was fairly calm. I don't know. I got closer to the store and I wasn't sure if she was there yet or not. It was fairly cold out, so she might be in the store for all I know.

I looked at the pocket watch in the pocket. I had to fix it earlier because Lottie's new cat was using it as a play toy, but at least it was fixable. It was nearly seven fifteen already and I was wondering how much longer I should wait, before I should just leave.
But a moment after thinking that I felt a small tap on my shoulder and I turned around with a small smile back to her, shutting my watch and putting it back into my pocket."Hey." I said back to her. At least she didn't stand me up. That would just put the icing over the last week. "You're looking very lovely tonight, Miss Whelan." I said with a small and soft chuckle.

I laughed a little, "Thanks.. They couldn't get me to move if they tried." I added with a small smile. Even though I was just about to leave myself, but that wasn't the same thing.
"That sounds good to me." I said with a small nod, seeing her rube her hands together. She was probably freezing. It was cold enough out here, she should have worn something a bit warmer probably. So, in this case I normally would take my coat off and hand it over.. but honestly, it might be a bit too cold for that. Not exactly as chivalrous as I would like to be, but she probably wouldn't take it anyway. I seemed to have that problem even when it was warmer than this. So instead, I took off my scarf and put it around her neck with a small smile. "You looked cold." I added a moment later, thinking I could have said those in a different order.

I shook my head. "I'll be fine." I said waving off what she said. I honestly didn't care. And I was just realizing that I hadn't been on a date in... ten years? A date not with my wife that is.. and actually, it was sort of weird thinking that we were on one. She took my hand and I nodded. "Yeah, ready when you are." I said with a small nod and smile, holding her hand back

We popped infront of a restaurant which honestly looke really nice. I don't think I'd seen this place before, but she wanted to come here, so I guess that it was fine with me. Honestly the first thing that came to mind was that this was going to cost me, but hey, whatever. I hadn't been on a date in years.. So I guess this was allowed.
I followed her inside the restaurant and hearing what the hostess said, looked over to Charlotte with a slightly amused look. "They know you personally?" I asked, teasing her with a soft chuckle, speaking quietly. "You take all your dates here?" I asked as I began walking with her.

"I was just kidding, Charlotte.." I said shaking my head faintly, smiling to her. "And yeah, I think I got the gist of it.." I said after seeing the hostess wink at her. I shook my head at her apology, "It's alright. You don't have to apoloise.. especially since I'm not even sure what you're saying sorry for." I added a moment later, shaking my head faintly again.

I have to say that I was left slightly speechless about everything she just said. And I honestly felt for her because I'm sure that she didn't mean to say all of that outloud. Did she basically just said that she wanted to but didn't think I would want to? I'm a guy. I want to. I just probably wouldn't. So I wish she didn't say anything. Anyway, it was up to her and I just thought about that way too much in this short amount of time. So it really didn't matter. Maybe I should say something soon though. "Um.." I said letting out a small laugh, rubbing the back of my head. "... I think I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that." I said shaking my head faintly, feeling a bit amused. "But just for the record. Let's see how the date goes first." I told her with a small smile, putting a hand on hers so she'd look up to me.

I glance up at him still having a hold of my lip. I have never been so embarrassed in my life but instantly smile when Riley says he would forget about what I just said. "Thank you." I say softly before glancing back at my hands until his next comment. "Alright then deal."

"Least I could do." I said with a small chuckle, smiling a little bit. "Does she do this with all the guys you go out with?" I asked a moment later, still actually finding it sort of funny what her roommate did. Even if it was probably really embarrassing for her.

I wasn't really positive how what she said about her roommate was related to what I asked, but I guess it didn't really matter. "That sounds like it might get sort of annoying.." I said with a faint laugh.
