"Pretty much," I shrug. "I mean... so do I, half the time, without really saying anything."

"Yeah, I guess so.. but I mean.." I shook my head a little bit. "Nevermind." I said with a soft chuckle. "I don't know what I mean."

"You mean maybe he shouldn't be wandering around god knows where when he's a fugitive?" I suggest, then shrug. "I know, but he does."

I nod my head slightly, "Yeah.. that might be it actually."

I nod again, sighing faintly, then shrug. "Ah... so do you want to sit down or anything?"

I shrugged, "Yeah, sure.. Sitting sounds good." I said with a faint nod. I didn't know if it was just me, but this still felt awkward and I really didn't know what to say to her.

"All right...." I nod, leading him down the hallway to the kitchen. The living room would technically have maybe made sense, especially as we were already there... but there's a mixture of factors. Most notably, I'm too used to sitting in the living room with Logan and being there with Riley would just be kind of odd; and besides, we always have had a fondness for talking in kitchens.

I was expecting us to just sit in the living room since it was closest to us, but she walked us back to the kitchen instead. Which was really no problem cos that's where we always went.. I did sort of wonder why though. "You know, I never really thought of it till now. But how do we always end up in the kitchen?" I asked with a soft chuckle. I wasn't complaining or anything, I just needed something to say that was the closest thing to grab at.

"Tradition?" I shrug, laughing slightly as I lean back against the counter, crossing my arms. "I don't know. Wasn't there a point where we decided we'd be safe from drama if we were in the kitchen and everywhere else wound up with one of us in tears?"

I laughed a little bit as I pulled out a chair and sat down. "Yeah, maybe that's it then." I said with a small smile. After hearing the second thing she said I shrugged lightly. "That sounds familiar.. Too bad it hasn't really turned out to be that effective."

"No, not particularly," I shrug. "But then again neither did most of my... our... superstitions or predictions."

I shrugged, "Yeah, I guess they haven't.." I paused for a moment. "I think I did a pretty good job with predicting things though." I added thinking about our bets, which I can barely even remember today for some reason.

"Hm...." I grimace slightly. "Well, two of them were really just silly... or one of them was silly and the other was an argument of semantics... but I guess you did pretty well with our third bet."

"The third one was love, not monkeys right?" I asked with a small laugh.

I laugh slightly, shaking my head. "Yes, the third one was the one about love. The Secret was just silly and the argument on monkeys was really just semantics. I always made a point of saying that the non-existent monkeys can't exist, not necessarily whatever monkeys you were talking about."

I smiled and shrugged a bit, "Right, I'll agree with you on the secret, but I'm still sticking up for the monkeys." It seemed odd to be talking about this again, usually it was okay, but I don't know.. Maybe i was just weird today.

"Only because you're still not listening to exactly what I'm saying," I say, shaking my head.

"Then what are you saying?" I asked laughing faintly, shaking my head, feel very slow at the moment because I was apparently missing something important.
Post by Arden Patricks on Jan 17, 2009 16:25:07 GMT
"Just... nothing important." I shake my head, smiling slightly. "I don't know why the hell I even remember all that."

"Nonono." I said sort quickly, squishing all the no's together, smiling. "You mean we weren't even talking about the same monkeys?"
Post by Arden Patricks on Jan 17, 2009 16:32:59 GMT
"Yes! That's it exactly," I laugh, shaking my head. "And I cannot believe that it took you ten years to figure that out."
Post by Riley Pearson on Jan 17, 2009 16:36:06 GMT
"That's not fair!" I said back to her, laughing a bit more. "Well it took me ten years because you never told me you were talking about a different monkey. I just thought you were saying non-existent for an adjective for my monkeys."
Post by Arden Patricks on Jan 17, 2009 16:41:57 GMT
"I did too...." I laugh. "I told you lots of times but you never quite got it and then I'd just sigh and give up until the next time we argued."

I laughed and shook my head, "Did not. How was I supposed to know you were talking about a different monkey?"

"Because I told you, repeatedly," I say again, still laughing. "You are such an idiot sometimes."

I laughed a little. "I still don't believe you." I said, smiling widely with a shake of my head. "But yes, I can be the idiot. Thanks for noticing." I added with another faint laugh.

"Anytime." I grin at him teasingly. "Someone needs to put you in your place."

Post by Riley Pearson on Jan 17, 2009 17:12:38 GMT
"Well thank you for doing so then." I said grinning back to her with a small shake of my head, not really paying much attention to the fact that I already said thank you. "Even though I'm not really positive what place you're putting me in."

"The one you belong in as opposed to whatever one you aspire to?" I shrug, shaking my head. "Never mind, I'm done being cruel." And I really want to kiss him but I'm steadfastly ignoring that to the point I'll not even acknowledge I'm ignoring it.

"You're fine." I said with a small smile still. "You know I don't take offense very easily." I shrugged a little bit and stood up, going to stand next to her where she was leaning against the counter, mainly just because I was getting fidgety.
