And after one brief circle I give up on pacing as well, instead just leaning back aginst the wall with my arms crossed. I can't think of anything to say now.

"Fair enough," I murmur. I would offer to leave again so she could pace, but we've already established that we're avoiding though. I'm also a little bit concerned about leaving the room, because my head seems to be worse when I'm on my own anyway.

"Good," I agree, just as firmly. I wonder dimly if Rubalyn ever actually made it to Fitzy's and whether or not she's going to tell him anyway, because I don't think I'm really going to skin her children...even if she did tell him. Ah, and that was exactly the kind of thought I was trying to avoid in the first place, so I end up grimacing for no apparent reason at the floor and tightening my hand into a fist at the same time.

As I'm passing by the bathroom I wonder abruptly if they've found the person's body yet, making me flinch. How was everything perfectly fine less than half a day ago? I think, not noticing until I'm in the kitchen that Logan's behind me.
