"Well, that's a surprise," I say coolly, raising my eyebrows. "I really wouldn't think that a raven would jump to conclusions unsupported by much evidence." I look back at Melody then, largely just because I don't like ignoring her and partly because I don't feel like answering her question and would rather annoy her instead. This whole conversation has been stupid.

Shell rolls her eyes before sighing. "I do have evidence. You first don't have a birth certificate for your child. That marks out Ravenclaw. You left your child with Fitzy, there goes Gryffindor. Hufflepuff I wouldn't really know about that one but I figured you weren't in it by your constant smirking at me." she says before rolling her eyes again. "So you're going to ignore me now that I left you in to see the child you abadoned?" she asks with an amused look on her face.

"And how in the hell did you logically conclude that I can't have been a Ravenclaw because I don't have a birth certificate?" I ask, too befuddled by this to pay attention to the rest, and looking back at Melody with a slight lump in my throat as I continue. "I knew I couldn't keep her very long; I thought I'd let her father take care of it. I don't see how that denotes a lack of intelligence."

"Responsible mothers unlike yourself always get a birth certificate, so if they planned to come back and take them they would need proof. Beside it doesn't really matter like you for example." she smirks lightly before sighing a bit. "I think you should leave and come back when Fitzy's here. I don't think he's going to come by anytime soon."

It doesn't really matter like you for example? I stare at her a minute, then shake my head dismissively. "I'm not even going to bother. And I'm not just leaving my daughter with a woman I don't even know. I'll wait until he gets here."

"Well obviously Fitzy trusts me enough with her to leave me alone with her. And you trusted Fitzy with your daughter in the first place. So why shouldn't you trust me with her? I'm a much better fit mother than you ever will be." I say before crossing my arms.

"Obviously only if I assume that he really does know you're here," I point out. "Besides, who the hell said I trust his judgment? Does it really make me so bad a person if I thought he was the lesser of two evils, but now that I'm not a whore I want my daughter back before he fucks her up? You may be a much better mother than I would've been, but I will be a good one now."

"He asked me to come babysit! I just told you that!" I mutter before crossing my arms. "Fitzy has done a decent job as a father, seeing how he is normally." I say sticking up for him. "Besides, you shouldn't talk about him when he can't even defend himself and I hardly don't you'd be a fit mother seeing as it took what, two years to get your life back on track if it really is in the first place."

There's so much to argue with there that I don't even bother, just shake my head and go sit on the couch with Melody in my lap. "I'm waiting for Fitzy so that I can get her back, and then I never have to see you again," I say patiently, more to reassure myself than anything else. "And who knows, maybe he won't need to see you again either. So I don't think I need to bother explaining myself or my life to you."

I glance at her before laughing faintly. She's being quite immature about this. "What are you jealous or something that I'm in Fitzy's and Melody's lives now?" I ask with an amused look forming on my face before tilting my head to the side a bit.

I shake my head again, not bothering to answer. I really don't care if she's in Fitzy's life or not, even if it was a surprise not to find him alone... or even here at all. And maybe I am a little possessive of my daughter, but I wouldn't call it jealousy.

I sigh lightly before sitting on the floor and giving up on this argument for the time being. I look over at James and Jake as I sit between staring at their drawings. "That's a really nice car there Jake, and is that a tiger James? Does he have a name?" I ask them trying to forgot that Lacey was sitting just a few feet away from me.
