I take hold of his hand as he finally sits down, glancing over at Abby, who seems to be enjoying herself with Alex's old lion. "Alex is set on getting into Gryffindor," I murmur.

I link my fingers absently with hers as she takes my hand, "He will get into Gryffindor. I'm pretty sure of it." And I won't have another child in Slytherin. It was bad enough when Poppy got sorted, although she doesn't seem to care, so I suppose that it's alright, as long as she stays not caring about it.

"It's going to be werid with both of them gone," I murmur softly. It was hard seeing Poppy off when she started school, saying goodybe to Finley was hard too, and we still have to go through it with Abby.

"Yeah, I'll say," I mutter. I didn't get to see Poppy off. Poppy started school nearly three years ago, and at that time I'd just pulled the disappearing act. So really, this is the first time I'm going to have to see any kids off to school, and I'm really not looking forward to it.

I can still remember sending Poppy off. She kept arguing about how she wouldn't get on the train unless Ian came home. I had force her onto the train/ Finley had been reluctant as well. The entire time he clung to my hand, despite the fact I wasn't his favourite person in the world. Alex on the other hand was very excited. "I'm not looking forward to seeing him off," I mumble softly.

"No," I agree quietly, "Me neither." I don't want to see him off when things are how they are between us, but it doesn't look likely that I'll be able to change it before September, so I don't really have a choice.

"You'd rather have three children all the same?" I raise an eyebrow. If they were all like Poppy, or all like Alex, I don't think coping would be a possibility.
